The reason I got into studying art and music history was because at a summer camp I went to, they took our phones and all we had were our radios and alarm clocks. Me and my roommate would turn the radio to the classical station and fall asleep listening to it (annoying the heck out of our suitemates in the process). Listening to it for fun fueled my love for the arts.

Little fun fact - Bach’s Prelude in C major was composed on a harpsichord, not a piano because the piano wasn’t invented at that time. The original piece on the harpsichord sounds like it should be in Cb Major but it’s not. Thought that’d be cool to share.
Jasix

Most his pieces were conposed either for the organs or the harpsichord. When the piano became more popular, people just transcribed them. Since the instruments were similar there want much that needed to be done.

The piano did exist at the time. he just didnt had it most likely. but the piano was invented between 1698 and 1709. his piece was written in 1722. so the piano did exist. But most of the pieces Bach wrote where written for the Harpsichord not for the piano. so here is a fact. not what you said.

@Ik Ben Er Pik. Hi Ik, Strauss mostly wrote waltzes & polkas which are strict tempo dances. Most people are very glad it goes humpah pah because this enables a crowd of dancers on a dance floor to be in unison with the music otherwise they would be all casting themselves about trying dance stop/start, slow/fast with the music. You should try getting on your feet and dancing then you will enjoy the music more.

Does anyone else have a feeling that each song is associated to a specific memory...? This music is so powerful in that I can’t remember where I first heard it from, but I remember the melody to perfection. And I can associate each piece to an incredible scenario that I am 100% convinced that I’ve lived before.

Happy that the Satie made it to the list Surprisingly it's a great, smooth rendition of the piece. I've noticed that almost ALWAYS pianists are playing it exaggerated and sloppy. Says that' it's performed by "La Pianista." Does anyone one know who that would be? Sound like a female connection. And--uh oh--now i'm hearing the Chopin C#-minor Nocturne being played with good consistence. It's showing a photo of Alfred Cortot, but it sounds almost too straightforward, though i know his recording would be in included in this collection of public-domain music. If this IS Cortot then i'm even more in love with him than i was before.

I hope you've learned a lot more in the past 6 months!!! I always like to say that i dig the "best music of the past 1000 years".... the most wonderful thing about "classical" music is that it stretches back into the mists of time: we still have a genre of Christian music called Plainsong or "chant" (as in Gregorian Chant) that developed around 750 A.D. - before the time of Charlemange!! Of course the great majority of music that is "accessible"/relatable to the modern ear, was written after the early 1500s that's still 500 years of music to explore - most of it "classical" in common parlance!!! No matter how much you hear, there is always FAR more yet to be heard/discovered/experienced. That fact kind of blows my mind, lol.

@Ad Restus to all the idiots in this comment section, this video cannot be monetized as the person that uploaded this does not own the rights to a single fucking song here. Also, if you are pissed by Ads then use adblockers. Most small youtubers earn mainly from ads, why you may ask? well big youtubers need the same amount of money to live and thrive as small youtubers. Big yotubers have bigger audience = More amount of donaters. However, small youtubers have to live on Ads since only a small amount of loyal watchers donate. As for youtube cencorship and earning lots of money, it is what it is - big corporations will almost always come out at top, i'd rather ignore them than fight them.

@Alex Lake @MinyAnts I copied the text in a post because the time links don't work in the video info, only when they're in a reply. Thus, more or less time, they are plainly meaningless in the video info field where you can't skip to the proper timing.

Does anyone else have a feeling that each song is associated to a specific memory...? This music is so powerful in that I can’t remember where I first heard it from, but I remember the melody to perfection. And I can associate each piece to an incredible scenario that I am 100% convinced that I’ve lived before.

Wonderful job on compiling these classics, so great to be able to listen to them without fuss or searching. That said, wish the portraits here (such lovely art) and in other similar videos have the composer's name underneath (some were unrecognizable and had to take a screenshot so I could do an image search and find out who they were).

But there's something about classical music that I can't help visiting it now and again. Guess that's why it's called "Classical"!? 💪🏼😆👍🏼🎶🎶🎶🎻🎻🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎹

Will main stream music "made" today, at some point in the future be referred to a "Classical" let alone Masterpieces? Somehow I doubt it, although some of the pieces composed for gaming and soundtracks may stand the test of time. It kinda makes me sad. Pieces like these will endure.

classical music was nearly always present in our house.. we had a large collection thanks to Readers Digest Classical music my Parents bought back in the early 60's.. loved classical from cartoons.. amazing how many Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Beethoven, etc symphonies were in Looney Tunes.. and as kids, we loved that music IN the cartoons..it MADE the cartoon epic.. not just funny or good, and we played that music, all on our own... and I learned to play Grieg on the piano. i loved "Morning Mood" as well as " in the Hall of the Mtn King".. thanks for sharing...his works are a bit overlooked..
