I'm watching every minute of this victim statements video. It's really not much but least I can do to honor the victims. RIP to all the victims.

Luke’s mom 😭 I’m in tears. The moment she brought up the memory of kissing him goodnight at 5 years old and him wiping it off to get another one broke me. I have babies of my own and I can’t imagine the pain she and all the other families are going through. My heart breaks.

How can a person do this? It’s impossible not to be in tears hearing these victim’s statements. All those people either dead or injured due to one person’s actions. This is one of the saddest cases I’ve seen on here. RIP to the victims who lost their lives and well wishes for the survivors of this tragic event.

These statements are heart wrenching. Can't even or ever fathom the pain, and suffering these families are going through. My heart is with them.

Attempting to do my make up before work while listening. Oh my goodness gracious. I'm so heart broken. As a parent, my daughter is the greatest joy of my life. I cannot picture a day without her. God bless the family, friends, and loved ones of these innocent fallen children.

As depressing and heartbreaking as it is, I am taking the time to listen to all of the victim impact statements to honour the victims (which includes the victim's families). They have spent hours, days, weeks, months and years preparing their statements and summoning the courage to speak. I just wish that something good can come of this horrendous tragedy by curtailing the access to guns that Americans just don't seem to want to give up despite these tragedies being so common in the US. My thoughts are with the families and I commend you on your courage.

The determination, strength, and integrity this must take to get up there and face that monster. What he did was done for nothing but notoriety. But nobody is impressed by him. I’m disgusted.

i dont understand how that whole court room is in tears - I'd be bawling my eyes out. The staff/attorneys/jurors,how are they so calm? When someone cries - i cry. I supposed their used to it being in courts, but I wouldnt be able to contain my emotions

Even the defense attorney is crying, listening to the families speak of their murdered children. How can one be so empty of life and deranged to think it's ok to do this, to be known for being evil?

I can’t stop looking at the defense lawyer that has to sit next to the mass murderer. She is extremely emotional, and often turns her back to him. She can’t stop crying, and is scooting farther and farther away from the monster she has been hired to defend. She has a mountain of tissues in front of her. I wonder if she’ll be back tomorrow. 😢

This guy is a murderer that killed unarmed children and he attacked a prison guard. How in the world can they let him sit next to two women without being at least hand cuffed?

Listening to all these families has reduced me to a sobbing mess. Then seeing him sitting there with not an ounce of emotion makes me so angry. I think death is too quick for him he needs to live a long and tortured life. Let him live with the street justice that other inmates can dish out best for a long time

This Is so sad. I have 4 children and only 1 left in high school and thankfully I live in ten buck too, but it could still happen. I would never allow my kids in a big city public school just because I'm so afraid. Here in Ga the school fights are way up and it's scary. I can not imagine how these poor families feel or how they have made it this far. It has to be only by the grace and love of God. I have cried on every statement and I just don't understand how cruz can sit there with no emotion what so ever. I understand he has mental issues and I pray that somehow God will show that young man that what he did is wrong. God will punish him and there will be no more punishment greater than that of God and I ask God to forgive me because I don't think I could sit in the same room with him. I don't hate anyone and I know he was bound to have issues after hearing about his birth mom but he was raised with a great family and I believe that not only the devil is to blame but the doctors that are suppose to know how to help someone didn't put forth more effort than changing damn medications. Mental health is real I have seen it and been through it myself and you can clearly see this young man is not normal and he needs to be punished and judged for what he took that is irreplaceable. As a Christian I have to forgive but if I was one of the parents I don't know that I could. That young man needs help. I am sorry for the families and send all my prayers and love to be with you all throughout the rest of your lives.

The sad part of a person action is your not even the same person as you were at 17yr. Look how much you grew up look how much you have change. If you would had just let life pass you by , you would had realized the way you feel at a certain moment does not last for ever. Death does!! Death is forever. I feel for those parents! Watching the Defense attorneys cry 😢 has to be hard. They have a hard job being his attorneys. I know I would never represent anyone like this !! I know someone has to this job. What a tuff day!!! I hope he gets what he deserves!!!

I am so very happy the families of these murdered young people and adults, on the verge of adulthood, got to make Impact Statements! Not to resolve their grief, for that will never dissipate, but to give testimony to all the world that they too were part of a family, a community, a nation that and will be always a loss. I hope the defense team suffered through every word wondering what team they would be on if their child, husband were murdered. For Melissa McNeill, who fold her hands, and seemed to pray at the jury's decision of life in prison was shameful. I am, as an American Citizen, so insulted that this nation has made the murderer the victim and the victim's as mere bodies to be buried.

as i sit here listening to the statements i can't elp but to cry. Anyone with an assemblance of a heart would. i warched his sentencing a while back and saw that he got life and not death bc at the time of his crime he was a minor and the sate of Florida doesn't allow the death penalty to be carried out on minors. at first i was angry about that. but after i thought about it i was actually pretty happy about it. most child killers are killed in prison. If he would have been sentenced to death he would be in solitary confinemet, nobody could get to him. and he would most likely spend years wasting tax payer's money on appeal after appeal making those parents suffer even more. with life he will be put in with the general population for 7.5 - 10 hours a day. how long do you really think he will last? And after some of the comments here i'm amazed at how some of you feel sorry for the defendents lawyers. it seems that some of you have forggotten about the frizzy haired one at the very end, who made jokes and then flipped of the parents in the gallery. She was enjoying herself and the pain that everyone was feeling!!! Everyone deserves representation. it's part of our legal system. But to have lawyers like that, that is a slap in the face to the justice system. At least she has become one of the most hated women in the country, or was at the time of the incident. It's probably why she was now sitting at the far end of the table, where before during the whole sentencing trial she had been sitting next to him.

These poor families, that monster broke all of these people and got nothing in return. He’s life is over, i want him to feel the same fright he gave his victims but knowing him, he won’t see the correlations. The tearful defense lawyer must be suffering a lot as she sits next to the height of evil! It appears to me that his chair may be less high that those next to him since he appears shorter. When he stands, he is as tall as his lawyers. They may want him to appear childlike as they have with his drawing, using “crayons”.

Grims must read topic.... There was an episode on ... Black Mirror about these little metal robot dogs that was tracking and killing people. Now this thing was straight vicious, and the people was running for their very lives. Now every once in a while, somebody would go Rambo and maybe destroy one or two of the dogs but after they had to keep moving because more robot dogs would soon come. Never once in that show did any of the people say...Lets find out where all these robot dogs are coming from and start destroying those.
