well what is not pointed out is that he has a 9.5mil qualifying offer after next season.. the only way debrincat can justify that price is he score 40+ goals at a minimum.. after 2 seasons he can just walk away..

I dunno it’s a tough call he’s of course a nice player but by the time they are competitive again he’s going to be 27-28 nevermind if you keep good players it’s harder to bottom out fully and get into the top 3 in the draft.

Yeah even as a Red Wing fan I'm shaking my head and dumb founded by this move for the Blackhawks.. it reminds me of when they let go of Panarin and how upset Patrick Kane was.. you know something's weird when other teams fan bases who's not even a fan of the Blackhawks is shaking their head like "wtf you guys thinking??!".. even Senators fans are like " wtf Blackhawks??!..., Ummm okay, Thank you"?!😄😁🤷..

No GM is trading the 2023 first round pick especially teams that didn’t make the playoffs, unless of course they’re looking to be fired. Maybe protected first round but even then is pushing it. #7 overall Is a valuable pic and they got a second rounder in the same draft and another third… It’s a good trade for both clubs

@@ShirlBussman I feel ya… Went through the same thing when Ottawa traded every one of their elite players then proceeded to suck for years… There is a light at the end of the tunnel though so hang in there, this coming year is probably the best year in the last 10 to tank so good luck! You’ll be looking forward to the drafts instead of playoff but a rebuild as exciting as well although a long process. The Korczynski Kid you guys got it number seven looks like a great building block.

Ya that lady has no idea what she's talking about. This was a horrible draft year, and they overreached in the end.

It was a good trade for Chicago. They’re going into full rebuild and their GM obviously seen something they wanted inside the top 10, number seven is a valuable valuable pick the teams don’t just get for free, second and third round or on top of that and I think it’s a great deal for both clubs

Passing is great and all but scoring is a premium and Debrincat doesn’t need Kane to score

Things happen like the Covid debacle last year that had the Senators playing their AHL team for over two months🤷‍♂️ I think if they stay healthy it’s quite possible though. Usually teams have a line that plays against the first line but the senators now have two first lines pretty much so it’s going to be interesting.

Lmao, Debrincat has been scoring goals for many years without Kane. Now he’s going to have Stutzla and Giroux… or Norris and Batherson, he’ll hit 50 in Ottawa on a stacked top six.

@@epants8507 Remember you heard it here first. Playing with better players, Josh Norris had 36 in 66 games on pace for 44 goals. It’s possible Ottawa has 2 50 goal guys in DeBrincat and Norris. Ottawa has an absolutely stacked top 9 and one of the youngest groups in the league and have improved considerably this off-season. Stutzle or Norris centring DeBrincat and Batherson/Giroux…yep 50 is easily attainable over the next 2 yrs.

Right? These one dimensional 24 yr old 40 goal scorers are a dime a dozen. If you're going to have one dimension, goal scoring is probably the one you want. Then the Hawks reached for a player in a shite draft. Even if he doesn't resign with the Sens, which he will, they are absolutely getting way more than they traded for him. Horrible trade for Chicago, you're only fooling yourself.

@@JSauer21 well then I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you see this season. The senators are going to be scary good. Sanderson’s will have a massive impact, DeBrincat with Stützle and Giroux gives them a insane top 6. Formenton Pinto Joseph on the third line and they may have the best top nine in the league, definitely the best youngest top 9. Talbot/Forsberg, solves our goalie problem and year of growth from this young growing team makes me think they’re going to be a playoff team that can do some damage for sure. Ottawa is rising fast.
