Heli pilot did great work. As soon as he noticed something was off he changed his heading. He foresaw what could happen in the situation immediately and decided he'd rather not end up on a road to keep drivers safe. He decreased the rate of descent by flaring at a solid height and executed a forced landing in a way that didn't damage the heli. Props indeed.

Well handled but not a win for the pilot. This will forever be on his record as an "incident" which is a red flag regardless of how it was handled. Naturally it can be spun into a good thing because there is video and you're correct, he handled this very well, however it will still remain as something he will have to explain time and time again if he works in the field of aviation. Kudos to that pilot though, because dealing with helicopter crashes is significantly harder than a plane crash. One likes to fly, the other is a stone with some propellers attached to it.

He forgot proper procedure after take off which is why he crashed. I saw a rundown of it in a dedicated video. His ineptitude is what put everyone at risk. Thankfully nobody managed a scratch. I know my bhole would be puckered.

49:16 The anxiety I felt can only be outdone by the owner of that vehicle. I've had similar situations on a smaller scale and the emotions of "please don't destroy this" is heart racing but to think you might be going through someone's home in a matter of moments is got to be heart attack levels but that relief he got after tho.

Once I hopped out of my car still in drive to deliver a pizza. Almost right through the garage door. Literally less than 3 seconds to hop back in and hit the brake. 😂 The relief afterwards was sublime.

54:42 As somebody who wears wigs due to a condition, this is absolutely a thing. A few years back I went with my extended family to New Jersey for a summer trip, and my niece wanted to go on a log flume ride. My cousin and I both agreed to go with her, but after we boarded and started going, the last thing we saw on the loading dock before the tunnel... was a giant pile of lost hats. I went "Oh shit" and had one hand holding my hair down the entire ride. :D

55:59 out of this whole video i have to say this moment, while that man is comfortable in his bed no idea how close he is about to come to death! The very first thing he was concerned about was not his own safety but the safety and well being for the person who had just crashed into his home. This filled me with so much hope for the world. I mean I am sure he was upset later and I don't mean with anyone impaticular just that it happened at all. But i have to say this, I hope things worked out well for him through out all of it. I commend him immensely for his good human decency it's rare in this world. His very FIRST concern was hope that the person involved was alright! And that is incredibly awesome to see! Well done!

It was a fail. There's another video thats longer and the pilot admits he forgot to flip a switch shortly after takeoff. Not to take away from his impressive crash landing though.

Everyone did very well in that situation. If someone started screaming and crying it could seriously have affected the outcome. Panic is contagious.

@@morphman86 Fail Army's core mission is to show people or animals failing in some way, shape, or form so really the best you could possibly do is pin this on a pre-flight check fail, but then you need to know if the failure in question was the kind that could've been prevented with a pre-flight check or if it's the kind that would've just gone unnoticed.

Both magnetos are off, so yeah, it's a fail. He never checked them before take-off and a lose connection was the only thing keeping the engine running.

Hard to say which was my favourite, the automatic binding machine for the flat pack boxes is up near the top because I knew what was going to happen second by second, humour, such a uniquely human talent.
