@AutPen38 im not exactly trying to copy their brilliance. I watch these videos and try to recreate to learn about them as producers. I might borrow some techniques, yeah. But my problem is trying to figure out how i can embody what i hear in my head. And then i get discouraged because whats in my head is still generic af and that is whats eating me. Its the obsession to be great with no roadmap in doing so. And i know it just sort of happens but i wish there were some instruction ya know

I don't think Kanye watched TRshow videos on how to make beats. He didn't have someone say "Try sampling Aphex Twin or Daft Punk". He just did it. The guy was always thinking outside of the box. They say that there's a thin line between genius and insanity and Kanye has been on that tightrope his whole career (and sometimes he falls off). You can't learn that by copying everyone else. Innovators innovate.

All this was produced by Noisia back in 2003! Neurofunk music has always been 10 years ahead of all production, 20 years later it has reached pop. The passage has the same technoid tone from the 2000s!

This is crazy. Growing up on the 90s this was innate stuff to me. I studied Timbaland. He always did thus stuff. Except he didn't use that much distortion. I think with Kanye on you don't know he samples like he is playing bass

It's all about the timing / swing from the akai MPC which give you that feel this is no standard quantise. This is why the beats work. Loops are cut are and plays in via pads and given the same swing/timing. You need to feel it something software can't do. You can hear right away your beats don't have this swing. Have you looked I to this before?

I noticed you using that sampler but I've never used one before. Can someone please explain how to start with step 3, I don't understand. kanye didn't make numbers on the board; that was Don Cannon. Kanye was the co producer since he included those crowd chants from that one other sample into the beat. the bass from the beat is from the original sample Pots n Pans. they probably beefed it up with EQ or a sub, but they definitely didn't add bass to it.
