I used to wake up 8 am every saturday after saving up all week to go to a local internet cafe and used to cash in what I could afford to sit at that internet cafe and play counter strike with friends, this game has a special place in my heart.

Only Valve has the temerity to announce such an anticipated game in the most low key way possible.

I literally spent $3 an hour to play 1.6 at PC BANG for days on end 20 years ago. This made me so nostalgic.

It would be cool to have new first person animations for all the weapons in addition to all these upgrades. It would make it feel more like a sequel as well.

Feel honoured and cherish this because it might be another 20 years before valve drops the next installment.

The way this specific CS2 video's music started made me think of the nostalgic and emotional unofficial music of CS1.6's main menu as if its successor now. I hope it's not an old track from CS:CZ and that it will be released.

I've started Counter Strike at the 1.1 beta version. When I played for the first time, I knew that today this game would still be there.

Omg. I’ve been playing since I was 8 years old from the days of CS beta by Gooseman. Now at the age of 32…wow. I love this game so much. The day I get to step into this world in VR is going to be a whole new level of amazement. I hope that happens one day. CS FOREVER!!!

The simpliest and better solution for cs 2 to make the play more active, different and fun is to change the movement - some sort of getting between csgo and cs1.6. In 1.6 it is pretty hard to hit a headshot when the enemy jumping and running at your position. In GO they moving like turtles...

It's not just this innovation that beautifies the models and includes a few effects and a filter added, but the excess is eye-catching!

Maps in Source 2 look fantastic but my only concern is that they are not eye friendly. I don't know but I have the feeling that the amount of improvement of visibility (contrast and saturation) and brightness could make me blind. Well, it would be a good time to play in the lowest brightness setting if able hahaha.

A game that was not even a game in fact , but a custom modification of Hal Life, for almost 25 years ! remains so beloved and popular (although so many "killers" of this game have been announced) I would also compare the CS with a serviceable reliable bike - no need to put the steering wheel from the car on it , lift up the front or rear wheel , swap them or attach additional wheels - just change the chain and bushing , lubricate with oil and update the tires on the wheels - everything is fine

I always get happy to see CS getting updated and new versions but every time this happen i play less cuz of my computer...

Valve is probably one of the best devs out there as not only do they care about their players (we dont talk about TF2) but they make their codes open source so that other people can improve on the game, or just make community maps, characters, skins or visual mods for the game easier. As well as the fact that (correct me if i'm wrong) they dont push things like deadlines on their devs and make the game appeal to old and new players. I havent played very many valve games so I might be talking a load of horseshit.

Oh man, I haven't played since 1.6. This was shocking in regards to the amount of memories that flooded my brain. I'm 40. This is a game I played obsessively at 20.

Wow, the finale to the highly-acclaimed Counter-Strike series.

On one hand it's more realistic bouncing lighting with more lit up shadows. On the other hand the harder shadows would be more of an artistic choice. Some of the cooler blue areas are now just bland shiny tech demos from an Unreal Engine video.

i have something that i think might be good in CS2 and that is team selection. It looks dead ngl we see both them crouching which makes it awkward. I mean you got a lot of empty background to play with. So here's my idea and it's upto you(obviously) see as an option, instead of dead as crouch make them stand holding a gun(anyone will do). Now you need to add an object at back of the character something like a barrel or a box where they would be leaning on it with some cool pose. Lastly when either of them are selected make them move forward you like other games where you select a character and they move a bit forward with slight animation and speaking a word or so. Make that happen it will look so cool. For "T" you can go for "Yes My friend YES! For "CT" you can go for "LOS LOS LOS" or something way cooler thatn this.

I'm so glad to see that the devs aren't afraid to keep what they did well and improve on other things. its an all too common mistake that happens nowadays that devs fuck up something that never needed fixing in the first place and end up making a system or feature worse

I can say that the maps look way better in my opinion, i wonder how the rest of the community reacts to it..

the thing that always burned me out on this game is i played obsessively from 1.1 to 1.6 and i remember the CSBanana days where you could get every weapon model/animation/sound you could imagine, they took that away and now just CHARGE you for "skins" and it's the biggest middle finger to the classic players ever. So no, this "new" update doesn't really bring me back, i still see the same bland 5-ish soft looking guns with a recolor option and that's so boring!
