Elegant, shimmering,contemporary & delicious, Can't believe I'm just discovering Einaudi. His 1st name reminds me of the torture our Alex goes thru' in "A Clockwork Orange". I'm especially fond of piano solo's; my mother was a pianist ( she sang in local opera company but I've never cared for that type of singing). Favorites Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy & Michael Nyman. I like a bunch of what my Music Appreciation prof called "contemporary serious music".Like Glass & Steve Reich. Looks like I'm in for a lovely aural journey!

Two years ago I had to give up two tickets for his concert because I was supposed to go with my mom and she had to do something else. I'm from Rome and the concert was in Terme di Caracalla (look it up, it's stunning) at sundown. It would have been so beautiful to see :(

Definitely NOT an Einaudi touch, sound, speed, rhythm, dynamics, small details, but the listener with ears gets many shocks.

He has a Windham Hill / ECM new age kind of sound like George Winston, Barb Higbe, and Liz Story.
