@@riproar11 was talking about in terms of performance. some of the early models of the Mustang was great as a low altitude fighter, but as an all-around warplane, it just didn't have what was needed. The engine couldn't cope at high altitudes which made it less of a pure fighter. This meant it couldn't take on the roles it was needed for, such as being a long-range escort for bombers. though i'm sure most of those problems were solved when later models were equipped with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.

He was inspired to fly after the original Top Gun and he didn’t think he would be able to be an F-14 pilot. He really loved what he did! At some point, he was ready for a new job and decided to fly for one of the airlines flying passengers. The Darkstar does indeed exist. It’s being (as far as WE know) referred to as the “Son of the Blackbird” with its actual name being “SR-72 Darkstar”. It’s 98’ long, with a comfortable operational ceiling of 80k feet (though I’m sure it can go higher), as well as bolstering potential Mach 6+ speeds. It was initially developed to be a UAV with the same missions as it’s predecessor, the SR-71 Blackbird. But that’s legit all us normal folks know about it, or think we know.

GOOD MAN!!!! Pure love is GD right!! FA18 is my favorite too!!😊😊 Everybody is always talking about how awesome the F22 & F35 are! And they ARE, but the Hornet/Super Hornets just give me a tingle!! I am kindof a blue angels fanboy too so maybe that has something to do with it!!😂😂 Thats awesome he brought them up too! Now that he says it, im not surprised they had to do with filming that movie!! Blue angels are #1!! I was born in pensacola and anytime i go back there i always try and see them, also you can see them practicing sometimes too!! So frickin cool!!😁😁

that was informative, humbling and inspiring all at the same time.

@thomashanson6603 10 aylar önce
5:20 I don't want to contradict him because I'm certainly less experienced, but I'm fairly confident that the F-35A doesn't have thrust vectoring of any kind. Slightly confused why he would claim that.
@jesselioce 10 aylar önce
Prob thinking of the f22
@n0steeze 10 aylar önce
More likely he had the F-35B on mind, or simply a mix up. That one definitely has thrust vectoring while 35A and 35C do not.
@thomashanson6603 10 aylar önce
@@n0steeze True, but if I'm correct, the F-35B uses thrust vectoring solely for vtol, which still doesn't match his description.
@veramae4098 10 aylar önce
There have been some changes to the F-35 software that allowed different, ummm, behavior. Not a pilot, just a Retired Librarian interested in everything.
@n0steeze 10 aylar önce
@@thomashanson6603 Yeah I believe you're right, was more focused on the F35 and thrust vectoring than on what claims he actually made.

Dark star does exist. It’s based off the SR 72 Son of Blackbird which is currently in production

and about the Su-57 "Felon"...i heard that a fully-loaded Su-57 would not have been able to pull that Cobra maneuver too well unlike an unloaded one.

Only someone with 3000 hrs in the Super Hornet could think that monstrosity is beautiful. 😆
@AlexCatable 3 aylar önce
Haha, good one! I too think Hornet is on the uglier side of the spectre. He is still better looking than anything delta eing European, but falls way behind Tomcats, Eagles, Vipers, Raptors and ofc Flanker family and their relatives.

I got to load armament onto fighters, specialized in 16s, but also loaded on 15s, 10s, and 22s. There's a reason they didn't feature a 22 in that movie, itd have ate everything up with ease. That thing is a total monster...straight out of every opposing pilots nightmares, there's nothing they can do to avoid a 22 deciding to end them. The SU-57 is similar to the 35 but it's not actually a STEALTH jet, it's low visibility, very different. Which is why a skilled 35 pilot could take one down fairly easily and why a 22 would absolutely curb stomp it
@Scalabrio 2 gün önce
The F-22 it's not a navy fighter 😅. That's the reason it wasn't featured in the movie
@Murph_gaming 9 aylar önce
The F/A-18 in the film is the E/F Super Hornet. The E variety is a single seat fighter and the F is a two seat fighter, also I thought the SU-57 was based off the F-22?
@BlackOpSource 8 aylar önce
The Su-57 is meant to be a competitor to the F-22; how close it really is depends on how much RT you watch. Design wise its closest relation is the Su-27 family. The "F35ski" is the Su-75, which hasn't flown yet.
@joshuastefanick4806 8 aylar önce
They used F in the movie cause there were flight instructors helping the actors
