Murray River Receding | Morgan to Mannum update

2 aylar önceHi, today we look at the dropping water levels at Morgan, Blanchetown, Swan Reach, Walker Flat. Pellaring Flat and Mannum. Hopefully its not to long for it to get back to normal
I will continue to update on the receding water levels on a fortnightly basis

We also found it more difficult to move around Mannam this time. The recovery work will continue to impact movement. Felt sorry for the bakery on the river side. Normally you're struggling to find a seat to eat your lunch. Yesterday, there was only ONE seated customer! The staff were super happy to see us city folk! ☺️ (Highly recommended the buttered finger buns! 😋)

We did also, these roads etc. will be closed off for some time. Alone it will take a long time just to clear the levees. It is sad to see these businesses like this! I seen on the news that the Blanchetown caravan park was not insured, I would say he was not the only one. Ha I normally get a pie but will try the buttered finger buns next time 😁

Thank you again for the awesome footage of all of our shacks, your time and effort in putting this all together is really appreciated. Outstanding footage, even enjoyed the attempted landing. On the next video at the end, would be really awesome to see a wave from you. Again thank you so much, and please stop past for a drink and a group BBQ to celebrate the reopening, once our shacks are no longer in the middle of the river and we have them cleaned up and usable again.

It will be very interesting to see how much it has dropped in your next video, I feel so sorry for all of them having been under the water for so long, now see green sludge everywhere & I am told the smell is horrendous. It will still take time for the ground to dry out under the roads so that they are safe to drive on & not just go to potholes or worse. I am particularly curious to see Mannum next time as it seems to have suffered greatly.

It is dropping rather quick in the river land area so it shouldn’t be long to larger drops in water level at Mannum. The smell is bad, so are the mozzies. Houses in side and out will be coated in green slime and also that dirty brown! It just stains everything. The road on the other side of the ferry at Mannum is completely damaged and it will be sometime before they can go in a fix as you said. This week I’m going to look at the lower areas Murray bridge to the Mouth and the week after I will provide another update on the Mannum area

We did the Mannam to mouth day trip 20/1/2023. Still a lot of water around ! ! ! 😱 Funny thing is at the Murray Mouth (considering what's up stream), the level didn't appear to be that high and there wasn't that much flow. It will take along time to all drain out I fear. 🤔

Definitely is and you’re right we looked at the mouth last week and thinking the same! There is so much upstream and there is still a fair bit still to come down the Darling river that is currently in flood too. I with you on that one that it is going to take a long time yet to drain
