In one of your videos you said you review subscriber’s beats… I tried searching for the videos where you do that and can’t seem to find them.

1. Use the chord progressions inside the sample to give a direction instead of just picking random parts. 2. Use minimalistic sample parts to be flexible when it comes to adding your own sounds, VSTs etc. 3. Use a single note from the sample to put it in a sampler again to create your own chords.

Since the day I discovered this channel, my desire to produce music has multiplied by understanding things that otherwise would have taken me months or years. Thank you for dedicating part of your time to share your knowledge with people. We appreciate that.
Lesedi D. Damane8 aylar önce
Same here. I even used to hate sampling, now some of my favorite beats I made using samples.
Navie D8 aylar önce
🙏 That's all I can hope to achieve my friend
SGNL8 aylar önce
People underestimate sampling, it's one of the hardest things to pull off successfully. Trust me, once you learn an instrument, you learn how other things should sound naturally and what goes next is instincts. Not having that natural ability will cause a lot of headaches and growing pains when using samples.
Cloudy Daze7 aylar önce
@hector heckler it feels good when u find the pieces tho
hector heckler8 aylar önce
@SGNL hmm ...well...in that case, skillful pitching and tuning becomes your best friend.
SGNL8 aylar önce
@hector heckler like they say, hindsight is 20/20. In the eighties and nineties there were no sample packs with tempo and key in the description. You needed to use your ears and without those pioneers, Splice and all that other stuff wouldn't exist. Even now, if you're really digging in the crates for some obscure record you may not find the key and tempo. Even with that knowledge it's obvious when you hear a beat and they don't know what to do with the sample. No added instrumentation, bass is not in key etc.
hector heckler8 aylar önce
True. But knowing what key that the sample is in makes things a heck of a lot easier to build around it.

I'm really kinda intimidated by sampling and with so much to learn and improve on, I have yet to even try. But videos like this one are very encouraging. I've come to really trust in your content and teaching style. So thank you for this, and your entire channel really! You've become my go to source for nearly all things related to FL Studio and music production.

You’re the best Navie, been a subscriber for years and it’s helped me a lot, I self-produce for the most part and your videos have helped A lot and made me improve my beats For that I say Thank You Navie🙌🏽

Navie your videos are excellent man and your humor is on point! I love the "Overexplained and "Beginner, Intermediate, Big Brain" like this one! Keep doing your thing man I'm definitely learning from your teaching P.S. Are you going to be doing a video from the most recent subscriber beat submission? Hope to hear from you!

Born7Supreme8 aylar önce
Coming from the old school era ( Golden age ) it was fashionable to flip a sample until it was unrecognizable (So as to not have used the same sample in the same way as anyone else ) . I’m a fan of all of these methods mentioned here. Chop chop 🍴

Watch you along time and im very impressed considering that my level is still at the initial level. Тhank you very much
Mason8 aylar önce
Hey man. Im just starting out and have been loving your channel. Youre truly the best FL Studio guide out there. Youve done step by step vids before, any chance you'd make a video on how to make an NF/Tom Macdonald kind of beat? Beats with that orchestral sound. Like they got Beethoven type instrumentals mixed in. Thanks for the content!
DJ Noé8 aylar önce
Hey Navie... Just to let you know that I always visit your channel and watch your videos... I confess that I'm not the best viewer, I don't always hit the like button, but I always learn a lot from you.. In a current world looking for numbers and metrics, know that the impact you have on my productions is much bigger than all that... anyway, thank you and a hug... DJ Noé (São Paulo / Brazil)
jcomadeit8 aylar önce
Can I call Mr. Simple yet Complex. Cause holy cow Nav, you always make simple samples into intricate beats! Thank you for sharing knowledge.

Here's a cool thing that works sometimes: 1. Chop a sample 2. Apply low-pass filter to only hear the bass notes 3. Make a progression over drums 4. Flip the filter More often than not the resulting progression in the upper frequencies will turn out unique, beautiful and making you proud of your life achievements.

Crazy off topic question. But first let me say ur teaching style and videos are awesome fam. I just finally bought fl studio. I bought the producer version. Should I upgrade to the full version with all the plugins. Or the signature version. Thank you in advanced

I wonder how navie reacts when he makes this bangers, I just imagine him completely unimpressed casually catching on fire
blackpanther63898 aylar önce
That first tip was helpful. Although it would seem that your tips point to just looking for samples or parts of samples that aren't super busy with other instrumentation or textures. Just curious, how much would you charge for that beat at 10:00? Such an amazing beat came out of an example piece.
blackpanther63898 aylar önce
@Navie D no worries, brotha. Thanks for the reply!
Navie D8 aylar önce
Yeah, open, clean samples just provide much more flexibility. As for the beat, I don't sell beats anymore my friend sorryyyy
