Yeah...definitely screwed up the bit about the speed of Saitama hopping back to Earth from the moon BUT on the plus side, it doesn't change the final outcome. Yes, it overestimates Saitama's power for that one calculation, but it's not his MAX STRENGTH that we calculated for the falling meteor. It also still PALES in comparison to Vibranium's power, so yep, Cap's shield still stands!

Yeah LOL. Literally sneezed and blew out Jupiter's surface + literally LIFTED the crust off the surface of one of Jupiter's moons. (Also, he, when he clashed with Garou in his first punch, generated SO MUCH ENERGY that it wiped out stars FROM OTHER SOLAR SYSTEMS!!)

No in Wakanda there are these sonic stabilisers that make raw vibraium weaker so they wouldn’t absorb too much kinetic energy. As armour I can see shuri putting it together with Nanotech like iron man but as for the shield I don’t know

The problem lies in the fact that in the same episode MatPat is talking about with the moon feat, Saitama deflects Boros's giant laser that I forgot's name that was planet or star level... the power stone feat was moon level you dont need to do that math on that one, plus the fact thats only about 1% of his power (according to the manga) means that if he really tried to, saitama could beat the shield in his punch Edit: The laser is most likely planet level, but you get my point still.

In the latest chapters of the One Punch Man manga, Saitama sneezes facing Juptier whilst standing on Io, and blows away roughly 1/3 or 1/2 of Juptier's atmosphere down to it's metal core. Saitama could atomize vibranium without breaking a sweat ;D

I love this video, watched it a few times, but it has only just now occurred to me that saitama's power comes from the fact his "limiter" is broken, effectively giving him infinite power so therefor meaning he wins regardless of the mindbogglingly huge amount of power vibranium can withstand.

having not watched this video, and only knowing the physics of vibranium and the power of one punch man,.. i can say, that if One punch man gave it any effort whatsoever, the shockwave from the hit would ark in a bell shape for about a mile, the shield would be dust, and Captain America would be broken and tossed backwards about as far.

In the most recent chapter of the manga, Saitama literaly exposes Jupiter's solid core with an sneeze. Saitama destroyed one of Jupiter's moon by inserting his fingers in the ground and pulling the crust. When Garou copied Saitama's serious punch after (spoiler) killing Genos, the chock of their fists destroyed thousands of stars in their way after its vector force was redirectioned to space. So, no. Cap's shield does not stand Saitama's punches.

@Aaron Self "Name a time someone broke the 616 shield using just physical force". Just from thinking, I can already give you TWO times where that happened: one being in the comic Fear Itself 5, where The Serpent breaks cap's shield with his bare hands, and another being Gregory Stark from Ultimate (not 616) by using nothing but Thor's Hammer to destroy the shield. Also, I remember seeing Thanos breaking cap's shield with a slap, but I don't remember which comic is it from.

@Ikmaen it's not about it's total mass, but about how that mass is connected. Gas is easily moved, even where there's a LOT of it. 1lbs of stone, is harder to move, than 1lbs of gas. Pretty simple to understand. And again. It doesn't matter how hard Saitama can punch, kick, or do anything at all. You literally, cannot break Caps shield, with JUST genetic energy. You can't force enough into it to break it, for the same reason you can't shatter a glass of water by pouring 5 gallons into a 16oz glass. The water just overflows. Same with caps shield. Hulk hasn't even managed that, and to date Hulks strength feats make OPM's look like child's play. Oh he broke a noon? Hulk broke reality, by punching a dude in the face.

@Aaron Self literally the mass of Jupiter is heavier than 317 earth, a quick Google search would tell you that much and I just can't with people being gas=weak like yeah it is IF it's only a little of it but we're literally talking about Jupiter which can fit 1300 earth in it and all of that are just gas(aside from it's core)

@Blade of the Ruined King in theory, yes. in practice, there are plenth of people and abjects in marvel with ridiculus energy and mass that don't quiet impact their sorounding like they should. for example, the powerstone has moon busting levens of energy on its own. the hammer can fly, so its weight is not always a factor

All controversy aside, it is stated in the manga that Saitama has no limits. Literally none. No being or material or anything can defeat Saitama physically. Obviously a God-like being or power which can erase his existence with a thought would win, but in a physical all out fight saitama defeats any character you can think of. End of story, don’t get mad because saitama is a joke character and none of this matters, just know when you’re wrong

@Winters that's not how limit breaker in OPM universe work. A character can become stronger by pushing and expanding his limit barrier ( like Garou ), but when you have broken the barrier, your power automatically become infinite. That's the meaning of limit breaker in OPM verse, if a person still have limit to his power, that's mean he haven't break his limiter yet.

Thanos didn't shut off the other five Infinity Gems. He expressly states that he's cutting off sensory input from those gems, so he can't, say read their minds or see the future. He still has access to all their other abilities.

I noticed that for kinetic energy of saitamas jump from the moon, matpat used the Newtonian kinetic energy, even though he was moving at relativistic speeds, meaning his kinetic energy would actually be far greater

If Thanos can physically break the shield, as demonstrated in Endgame, Saitama can easily break it. Edit: my apologies for opening up this can of worm of a statement. Let's just remember that Saitama is a gag character with the intent of being a parody of the strongest hero, which means he is as strong as he needs to be, and not at all meant to be taken seriously.

The reason α lot of these comparisons work is we don’t HAVE an upper limit to Saitama. Every time α “serious” feat of his happens, it’s pointed out soon after that he still only put in an extra pinky fingertip’s worth of effort.

I know this was 3 years ago but you seem to have forgotten that in the comics Cap's shield is made of an alloy of vibranium, adamantium, and iron, while in the MCU it is simply made of vibranium, making it far weaker. Also, maybe the stone is powerful enough to break the moon all at once, the moon was simply too big for it to affect in an instant, and the energy needed time to travel across it.

You missed a huge fact, the force he has to put in to reflect the strongest attack from the final boss in S1. The attack would destroy the whole earth! Not only that he neutralizing it, he has to make sure he don't put too much strength into it so that he, himself, don't destroy the planet, even after this: No sweat at all, or even as he said, that his enemy was a strong opponent, the finals boss said that he didn't use his full strength.. ^~^

I think not only you, but also matpan missed the point, we know the power stone *can* destroy the shield, nowhere did it say that it’s entire power was necessary. thanos destroyed it in one hit, not in a wave, which means it didn’t even use all of his power. Also let’s be honest, even if his shield somehow could survive that hit, that blast would toast him and leave saitama just fine

usually when you use your full force in a punch your hand either starts hurting, or if your body can't handle the force you exert from that punch, your hand breaks or your elbow joints are dislocated (never happened irl ofc but its also possible), this happens because your body stops you from being hurt from that punch because you will get hurt if it would have been any stronger. we see saitama neither break a sweat when doing any of those punches, nor him being hurt from that which shows that his punch can be so much stronger than what he shows in the anime or manga.

The only problem with this is it assumes the power of the stones is the minimum needed to break the shield, in actuality the breaking point of vibranium could be much below the punch of Thanos.

The reason he didn't reach earth quicker jumping from the moon is because he would've destroyed it if he pushed off harder. Also, his strength doesn't just come from his speed. When Saitama fought Boros, Boros used his finishing move "collapsing star roaring cannon" which apparently had the power to easily destroy a planet. Saitama used a PUNCH to mitigate the attack, push it back and obliterate Boros. If you read the manga and web comic, he has way crazier feats of strength, without really trying. I have a feeling if he used his real strength, it would either destroy earth or the galaxy.

probably the funniest bit ive heard from that opening story is in WoW one of my friends was talking to a GM and before he closed off the chat he did the whole "is there anything else i can help with?" and my friend asks that question, since there was a shield and weapon with those names in the game at the time. I wonder if you will cover the manga, cause in the manga, it’s shown that Saitama has limitless power, as in his fight with cosmic Garou, his power slowly increased until Garou didn’t even stand a chance, while in the start, he could make Saitama bleed.

@Deadlox There's a lot of confusion with this. Saitama does not have unlimited strength, he has unlimited potential. Think of him like Goku if Goku went back in time to fight enemies from Season 1 when he's already got SS3. Dr. Genus specifically states this, that Saitama has broken his "limiter". There is no limit to his growth, but he isn't automatically omnipotent.

From what I've seen, how vibranium works is it 'vibrates' out force applied to it as a shockwave, which makes force based weapons (like hammers, some axes, and ones fists) completely ineffective against it, while weapons that are sharper, and are good at piercing bypass vibranium's shockwave

Destroying the meteor is not Saitama's greatest strength feat. His greatest feat of strength is overpowering Boros' final attack, which was said to be strong enough to destroy the Earth. Which means Saitama is capable of planetary tier attacks and wouldn't have any trouble destroying moons, thus Saitama can destroy vibranium.

I’m fairly certain saitama’s meteor punch is *not* his most impressive feat. His serious punch literally cracks the sky. The amount of energy needed to split the clouds over such a huge distance has to be _absurd,_ to say the least. What are the numbers on that, I wonder?

in endgame we see thanos break cap's shield with a force much less than thor's hammer punch. Because of this I would assume that the shield would probably shatter because of saitama's punch (not even the serious one)

In the most recent chapter of the one punch man manga, with a single move he shatters one of jupiters moons presumably Io since it is yellow and that moon is larger than our moon so saitama surely has what it takes. Three years late Edit: In the newest chapter he shaved all the gas off of jupiter clean with a single sneeze Saitama must be stopped

Hey, probably not the first to say this, but at the end of season 1, Saitama easily stopped Boros' ultimate attack (Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon) that would have destroyed the planet. In fact, he stopped it with just one Serious Punch and killed Boros with the shock-wave at the same time. Just thought I'd toss that additional fact out there for consideration.

You forgot something... When you accelerate something to lightspeed level the energy needed to accelerate it increases non-linearly and saitama's energy is not calculateable due to our understanding of the speed of light
