What's your favourite pro play that's happened on Dust II?

This map is so well known that people who have never played CS still knows the layout of Dust 2.

Dust 2, the map that can make you feel unstoppable when you're having a good day, or make you feel like absolute dogshit when you're having a bad day. It feels like there's no inbetween.

Imagine this 16 years old had fun on his summer vacation instead of being bored. We would live in another dimension

I haven't played csgo in years, but I genuinely see the layout of the map in my head when I'm really sick in bed with a bad fever - I don't think anyone will ever forget the layout of this map lmao

I dont think I have ever cried watching any eSports related (maybe only a tear when C9 won the major), but this video hit close to home for me. Across 3 accounts, I have almost 9,000 hours into CSGO, and a very large chunk of which was spent DMing on Dust 2. For all four years of high school, I would come home and not even play any MM or ESEA, I would just DM for hours upon hours on Dust 2. Now 5 years after graduating high school, I still do the same, at least 2-3 times a week if I can. I havent played any MM or ESEA in almost 2 years, but i still get on Dust 2 because I guess it feels like home. So much has happened after high school, I left for the Navy, got my associates, moved a lot, found a great girl who I think is the one (wish me luck!), but i still get on Dust 2. Besides the visual update, Dust 2 hasnt changed, at all. And I guess it makes me feel like im still a freshman in HS. It grounds me, that even though everything in my life has changed, Dust 2 and CSGO will be there. It sounds so dumb, but its comforting. No other game/map makes me feel the nostalgia the way D2 does. Its crazy what a stupid video game can do. Also Dust 2 is my least favorite competitive map LOL. Mirage FTW

It's funny that he called it "Dust 3" because Valve doesn't know such a number exists.

Feels almost nostalgic seeing the AWPer middle section open again. I can definitely see why they patched that.

Dust 2 is perfectly balanced map that has stood the test of time. Nothing broken about it. One of the best map designs ever in any game.

I played this map since I was like 7 or 8 years old. I'm 20 now. That's more than half of my life playing Dust 2. It's more than just a map. It's home.

one thing i really like about valve is that when an amazing pro play happens that everyone will remember they add something into the map that doesn't change the map at all but is a small homage to the sick play

I feel like there were 2 maps in ALL of gaming where 2 types of people were made, where friendships were born or ended. Where it was just fun or chaos. Them being Dust 2 and Rust. Don't want to start a fight or a war, but all of can agree these 2 maps will always be at the top of anyones lists.

The very first time I played dust 2. I was completely lost. Then at night I dreamt about the whole map the next time we played CS 1.3 with my friends I memorized it.

every match in Dust 2 feels super intense it doesn't matter if it is a pro match or just a random deathmatch... the map is legendary

The thing about esports is that, in order for it to be successful, it needs to be hype, thrilling and sometimes unpredictable. Just like regular sports. Dust 2 is always one of the most fun maps to watch pro teams play. You know it’s gonna be a brawl when a team locks in dust 2 as a map pick.

Dust 2 is like our childhood home that we always want to leave because of home problems but when we grow old we remember how beautiful and peaceful those days in that home were

Man, I've played csgo for like 10 hours total in my life, but I remember having a blast and wanting more when playing this map. And let's say it, this map may be a repetitive show, but it's the show we want

When i was younger, i knew kids were playing CS and were on dust 2 when they started shouting "Long Way!". The map will always be home.

Dust 2 has that brother aura, he sometimes bullies you into oblivion, laughs at your face and sometimes is chill and lets you have fun, at the end of the day you two have grown together, wouldnt have it any other way.

I remember when Dust 2 came out in CS times and I was initially confused by the map layout. But it very quickly became my favorite map to play because of the strategic options that were available compared to most other maps at the time. It still is my favorite map to this day, even though I stopped playing CS in ~2010 and was never too fond of CS:GO.

I actually miss Assault map. Why would they remove such an iconic map.

I never understood how CSS is deemed the worst of the games. Competetively maybe, but the fun you had with that game is unmatched to any other CS. THAT Source engine was just priceless!

I remember thinking Dust and Dust 2 was the same map when I played cs 2000 for the first time the only maps I remember now was the hospital, the cargo helicopter map, and both of the dust map I remember making stupid strategies thinking I can see the enemy but they can't see me but I was very bad ;-; I was only fighting bots too

I think dust2 also gives the best fps among all other maps, while nuke being the most laggy. That's one reason why many casual, deathmatch lobbies are on dust2 followed by mirage.

Holy shit I forgot about Dust 1. Seeing it again omg. It's all coming back. This returned me back to like 2001. My mind has been blown back holy hell.

And then they blocked the t-spawn mid peek. I started playing again and I went to AWP mid and I was met with a wall and me questioning my sanity, wondering if there even was a mid peek at all.

If I was that guy, I would DEFINITELY end up being that one old man always drunk and depressed in the bar that tells everyone "I was the designer of the most iconic multiplayer map ever made" right before passing out.

15:10 Actually dust 2 has had some substantial changes like the doors being made out of metal a few years after the game came out, the doors on b are now flipped, and the skybox has been opened up more.

I can't believe that I've been playing Dust2 since the 1990's, until today. Dust2 is the gaming definition of "classic".

This video could've used a segment talking about the controversial changes to mid doors turning them metal and having now to jump down suicide if you want to snipe those doors.

Even tho a lot of people initially didn't like it, Making it impossible for both teams to have an AWP battle through mid doors unless they ABSOLUTELY was a great idea. Most people denied the blockign off of mid doors from T spawn initially, but I think it solves a lot of problems that people had with dust 2.

did anyone see that dust 1 and 2 are the same they just changed position? the B site has still the same doorway and then the hole is just not there and the CT spawn is the way at the bottom of the bridge and the A site looks the same in the perspective from CT spawn. Its really easy to notice if you played the old one

I wish I was around before the cosmetic overhaul tbh, but I heard it was harder to see on that map in lower tuns. But dust 2 will forever be one of those maps that is literally part of the soul of a game. Like nuke town and COD, Dust 2 and CS:GO will never, and I mean never, truly die
