Arriving at the Grand Canyon does actually take your breath away. While the video was exceptionally well done, seeing it in person is a bucket list item. Afterall, we are all just a compilation of memories over our lifetime.

What a great roadrip! I made a similar trip a few years ago but I didn't have the insight on these great attractions on the way. Looking forward to doing it again. I used to live in Henderson Nevada and drove to the east rim of the Grand Canyon where the Skywalk is located. That is another great, but shorter, road trip through Dolan Springs Arizona and the world's largest Joshua tree Forrest ( more than in Joshua Tree national park). Lots to see on that trip too. LOVE Kingman! One of my favorite places!

This is awesome, a geography lesson with some great views. Thanks. Bring back memories of my humble quest to find the origins of the creek I live next to. This wide creek travels about 11 miles through eastern Pennsylvania and feeds into the Lehigh River Pennsylvania which then the feeds into the great Delaware River which empties into the Atlantic Ocean near Lewes, Delaware and Henlopen State Park. I found my answer, an underground spring about 8.5 miles away. It was fun finding it, a meadow with a small forest next to a state road and a few homes in the countryside.

Wow, thats really cool. I did the same with the San Diego river once to see where it started, ended up finding a pretty cool monument there to a firefighting disaster.

About 10 years ago my brother and I were on a road trip from California to the Grand Canyon. We pulled off the interstate in Seligman and headed for the Snow Cap drive-in in search of refreshments. There we ran into a group of German tourists all riding rental Harley Davidson motorcycles on their tour of the Mother Road.

After visiting Las Vegas a couple of times I realized the best feature is it's location and proximity to many National Parks that lie within every direction, the best way to visit Las Vegas is to grab a rental car and get out of the city... Within a few hours is Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Death Valley N.P., and many other amazing desert attractions like Lake Powell in southern Utah... So next time you fly to Las Vegas make sure you get a rental car and explore outside the city!

Enjoyed this. We were going to do this exact road trip (actually around same time that you filmed this) but had such a blast in Vegas that we were driving along and decided wife and kids were just too tired. Stopped for some food and gas and head on home. But plan to hit the road and explore these stops soon. Great tips and insights, cheers.

Mention of Kingman is always bittersweet for me. My parents got married there, it was on the way to relatives' place in AZ. They didn't get married where they lived in the SF Bay Area cuz they were a mixed race couple, so the marriage was illegal in CA. Kinda funny when you think of the typical perceptions of CA & AZ today. I need to make a Route 66 trip someday. I've put in more than a few miles over the years, but it was always under time constraints. Thanks for all the good stop-n-see ideas!

I highly recommend breakfast at the Coffee Cup in downtown Boulder City. It's a very popular place. I found the dam tour worthwhile, though it has shortened over the years. Note that the Tillman Bridge has walls high enough to block the view below. If one wants the bridge view, they've got to park and take the short walk, which I also found worthwhile. As always, love your content and style.
@SidetrackAdventures
@SidetrackAdventures Yıl önce
I didn't realize the walls were so high when we walked up, but when we drove across I was disappointed we couldn't see to the other side because of the walls. I'm sure its to help with wind or just to stop people from stopping to get a look. I'm glad they let you walk up.

Don’t know where to start 😮. My family went 2 summers from Kentucky to California covering nearly all of the West. I remember having breakfast in Flagstaff and next stop the Grand Canyon. I was really little and we were on Route 66 which was just mind blowing. My father was an engineer and we did the tour down to the enormous turbines in the Hoover Dam. Wow. I definitely want to check out all those places and museums in your trip. I have autism and when we got to Las Vegas I was shaking at night from being over stimulated by all the lights and people. My parents wanted to enjoy the night life and I successfully begged them to leave me alone in the hotel room. OMG I was so freaked out. Everything out there is so different. I loved 🥰 all the unique neon etc. along the way. It’s really sad that it’s gone because of a new highway 🛣️. I’m going to save this video and when I make my own extended trip out West I’ll be checking out all of the attractions in it. Thanks 🙏. 👍☮️🌞🩷

Have you > and your wife, and child ever been up to the Pacific Northwest? I would invite you to go up past the S.F. Bay area , on Hwy 1, or 101 North...... go up past Santa Rosa, past Ukiah, up to a small place called "Legget, Ca",,,,, go to one (at least) of the many "DRIVE THRU" trees....
