As I suspected the lake systems at the end of the Murray have absorbed the flood nicely and given the habitat a great drink. Nice video

Beautifully narrated, great video footage and editing. Reminds me of my mum and dad, also avid caravan holiday makers with many shacks in their life time. The Scarborough family is a generational riverboat and steam machine enthusiast family. Sadly my dad Bill passed away 19th Jan 2023 at age 86 years. We were hoping to get mum and dad together one last time up the river for a bird's eye view of the Great River Murray in flood, yet I think dad probably had the best view of the river as he went to be with our Lord and Saviour. Keep up the wonderful videos that also bring for many of us out own wonderful family memories. Thank you ✝️💖🕊️

So the moral of the story is that if you are going to invest in a shack, then buy one lower down the river or on the Lake rather than upstream where the river has come up so much higher. Thank you for your interesting videos, I am glad I found your channel.

This has been wonderful for us to see the area's you travelled & congratulations on the drone filming magnificent. Have been on quite a few house boat trips leaving from Murray Bridge traveling even further than young husband, which was great as one could imagine. Remembered a lot of these river houses on the way up that are now showing rooftops & or affected by the floods in one way or another. I remember the corner Deli you spoke of & good to see Goolwa is ok, their drinking water comes from Myponga Dam so no problems there with the quality of water. Thanks Mick for sharing your video.

I wonder if Wellington is a high point in the river system, limiting full flow of the river into the lower lakes. The flood plains at Wellington were certainly flooded on 20/1/2023, but situation pretty much normal in the lakes and at the mouth as you show.

Hi Mick, another great video! Could you please let me know where you obtained the small image you use to track your route?

Not sure why I thought this, but I was expecting the mouth to show a really strong current, almost like a white water rapid. It's very narrow compared to any part of the river above the lakes. Doesn't look like 160 GL per day flowing through it. Perhaps during low tide its more noticeable.
