How To Use MULTIPLE Samples In One Beat | For the first time I show you guys how I make a SIMPLE beat, from scratch in FL Studio in this tutorial video. Whether you are interested in seeing how to make a trap beat, or any type of rap beat, this video will hopefully be instructional. I take you through my sampling process, and show you guys a few of the techniques I use when sampling.

If you are interested in learning a few arrangement tricks as well, hopefully you will pick something up pertaining to that too. This tutorial is meant for beginners somewhat, so I didn’t want to do too many advanced techniques or arrangements tricks in my beat. I wanted to keep it somewhat simple.

Even though I made this beat in FL Studio, you can still see techniques that can be used in Ableton, Logic, Garageband, Maschine, or whatever DAW you use.

Full disclaimer though, I did make this beat prior - this is more of a recreation video. I wanted to make sure I had time to think about how to present the tutorial the best I could, and teach as much as possible with this tutorial video

This dude has a really signature sound on his beats. Something quite heavy and dark. In every tutorial I get this feel. I love it. Hope you keep doing your videos in your own way. You feel very different from everybody else. Awesome production style in the beats and in the videos/explanation. I caught your livestream the other day and you said something that really crushed me, but in a good way. I thought I was getting better, but my switch ups were just taking instruments in some parts of the beat, halftime, etc. It's really cool that you have a different aproach in that topic. Promoting a more organic way of composing, instead of doing the same trick all over again. I would love some more tutorials in arrangment/transitions!

Hahah thanks man, yeah at this point I do have a sound that I like to go for. It's typically heavy and dark, or relaxed and smooth (like in my lofi videos maybe). Thanks for popping by the stream. I guess my intention with saying that is making sure you guys subject yourselves to new techniques and styles in different situations. It's easy to fall into a rut and do the same process over and over again, but at that point you are sacrificing your learning. I think there is real value in making sure you don't stay in a comfort zone, so I want to try my best to push you guys.

Great video! I really like this as it gives a peek into your producing process and it'll help me shape mine. One of the reasons I like your videos is that you can take the most simplest loops and sounds and make them sound very professional. Idk if it's bc of mixing or arrangement or both, but a tutorial on that would be nice as well :)

🔥Brilliant!!! I thought using samples just meant dragging and dropping sounds that already exist into your own project, hence I didn't like the idea of using them as I thought they will steal from my learning process. From this video, I saw that you still need to use your own creativity to make the samples more interesting in endless ways.
Navie D

Thank you Lesedi! Yeah I find sampling gets a bad reputation because people think it's simply just dragging and dropping sounds and that's it. But I am hoping to show how you can get really creative and unique with it

this video makes me really happy, because I noticed the way you mix is EXACTLY the way I mix, same process, everything. Except I start by turning all the faders down. Other than that, it's the same process. This means I'm doing really well with my mixes. My friends say my mixes sound really good, but I find it hard to believe them lol but now I do. I think I need to start the next phase: Vocal Mixing

The reason I personally don't like SliceX is because you have to go through multiple menus just to stretch and experiment with your sample. It really grinds a halt to my workflow

how do you control the bpm of those sample? because when i sampled a piano song and loaded it to fl, i couldn't control its BPM
Navie D
Navie D Yıl önce
Are you using a sampling plugin or just using dragging the sample into FL? If you're just dragging the sample in straight (which I would advise against), you will see the time knob in FL's sample settings. If you are using Momentum like I did in the video, you can manually change the BPM in the plugin

I don't understand... Shouldn't the samples be on the same key ? I know that if I put a sample above antoher it's gonna sound off key because I don't have a musical ear so I can't really pitch up or down and see if it sounds good... Could anyone explain this to me ?
Const
Const Yıl önce
@Navie D ok that's it. Personally I use the Gtune plug in to help me try to make everything sound good. But it's very hard when you don't have musical ear. But since i practise a lot, I start to recognize when it's off key so i m pretty positive about my progression
