My brother went to war in Afghanistan and he told me the hardest part for most people is if they saw their brother shot, screaming in agony, they’ll focus on that more than eliminating the threat. He’s had to witness his team in horrendous situations and said you ignore it until the threat is eliminated. Unless you’re the medic, you don’t stop.

I gotta say with the way media portrays everything these days you really open my eyes to how thankless being a cop can be and despite that most are ready to give their lives any and every day. Also as he runs *towards the shots*, he's calling for cars and civilians to get away. He doesn't stop to make sure, obviously, but the fact that he has the presence of mind to also warn innocent people away from what is certain risk and danger is commendable in the highest regard. 10/10, officer.
