Hi Simon / Louise, thanks for the video. I had a chat with Simon before, can really recommend it to anyone thinking about it. This guy is on fire. Just wanted to clarify something, can I set up a pension and put 160k in straight away? Or am I right in understanding that I can only put in 40k for each year the pension has been set up? Thanks

Thank you for the very kind comments. Pension contributions is a tricky area. Tax is straightforward but putting money in one go may be investigated by HMRC, especially if it is a large proportion of profits

Hi, I have a pension pot of 125k, I retired already in december. Is it ok to put 125k in sipp or sass. I consulted a pension advisor but he told me I cant do that as I am already retired. Pls comment and advise if it is ok to open sipp or sass as I am a property investor.

Suspensions on regulated and therefore we can only talk about the tax side of things. You will need to speak to a sass pension provider to discuss opening accounts

Can you share with me any references for the 3% rate? Tax will be applied on monies taken out of the SSAS at the point of retirement

Is that 40k cap across all companies? So say I have 5 limited companies, can they each contribute 40k?

The £40k cap is per individual in all pension groups

@Global Tax Tips: Real Estate Property & Expats ah ok. So it’s a hard cap at 40k per year : regardless. Is that the same for a SASS?

We wish. The £40k relates to the individual.

That is a very good question and I’m more than happy to create another video to talk about the practical is of a sass and sipp pension. I do need to be very careful about giving financial advice as I am not regulated to do so
