Ruhi Cenet is in Nauru, the least visited country in the world. Located in the middle of the vast waters of the Pacific Ocean and appearing just as a tiny dot on the map, it’s the smallest independent republic. Nauru is the most inaccessible country. Hardly 200 people make their way to this country each year. This is the least visited country in the world, even the closest countries are thousands of kilometers away from here.
Until recently, the locals on this isolated island had so much wealth that they didn't even know what to do with it. Once rich in phosphate deposits in 1975, Nauru became the country with the highest GDP per capita in the World.
Today, however, in these destroyed lands where no fruits and vegetables can grow, processed and fatty foods have become the norm. Nauru is recognized by the World Obesity Federation as the world's most obese country, with around 60% of its citizens are obese. The World Health Organisation also reports that Nauru has the highest cigarette consumption rate in the world.

Crazy place. I worked there in the 90’s with a construction crew from New Zealand. After my 6 weeks work I’d met and talked to locals. Very friendly people. At the time they were running out the phosphate, and aware of the corruption wasting the money away. I’ve told many people over the years of the unbelievable situation. Sadly the locals knew that those in charge never wanted the world to see the real state of life their. Your Doco is accurate. An interesting and astonishing place. What humans can ultimately do to the/there environment with the factor of greed.

Another channel "Yes Theory" showed Tuvalu as the least visited country in their video, but it's not. Tuvalu is a visa free place and atracts so much more people. Nauru is the real least visited country and even less visited than North Korea.

I visited a village on an island in Fiji in 2005 where refugees from Nauru had migrated to. If I remember correctly, the island they were on was provided by the Fijian government. They had no electricity or running water. Their stories were very interesting.

Similar to small islands in Indonesia, there are many small islands in Indonesia, and one that I have visited and whose conditions are similar to Nauru, is Baewean Island in East Java. It is very similar to Nauru with a single runway and only one main road encircling the island.

они по сути из первобытно-общинного строя и собирательства сразу очутились в 20 веке и получили всё махом. Отсюда и не умение-нежелание ценить те богатства, которые им дарованы были природой. Можно было ограничить добычу фосфатов и диверсифицировать экономику страны, даже с учетом того, что она на отшибе. Граждан Науру там немного, так что все заработанные миллионы можно было бы вложить в облигации и жить на проценты. И развивать хотя бы своё сельское производство. Обеспечить 10-12 тысяч человек овощами несложно, имхо. Удобрения есть, вода есть. Но они решили ничего не делать и получать ренту. Отсюда и результаты. Те же ближневосточные страны давно уже не на одной нефти сидят. Авиакомпании, биржи, туризм. Даже саудиты свое сельское хозяйство в пустыне развернули.

I lived and worked on Nauru for 5 years from 2012-2017. The people are awesome. I loved my time there. They have the weirdest names for their kids. I worked with a fella called Incaredible and someone named Sparkle and a bloke called He-Man to name just a few. They LOVE their power lifting too which they do well with at international events. Shoutout to the boys from Camp 2. 🙂

I had never heard of Nauru until yesterday when I came across a post card featuring a visit by Queen Elizabeth in 1982. Would love to have known her thoughts on the visit and what prompted it's inclusion on her itinerary.
