When your opponents cry for you, that means you've earned something in life! What an athlete! ✨

One of if not the most emotional moment in the history of any sports. As a Roger’s fan, I was obviously moved by his emotions outpour, but it was seeing Nadal crying that really brought me to tears. Two great men. End of a era.

He's has to be considered as potentially the greatest sportsman of all time. The length of his career, his level of success, the way he revolutionised tennis, the way he's never put a foot wrong and been such an incredible role model. I was 9 when I first saw him play and I'm now 30 ❤️

The number of Grand Slams doesn't matter as what this man has done for the sport of tennis will never be done again, played the game better than anyone, humble in victory, gracious in defeat, ice cool on court, calm & calculated, the epic wins, the brutal losses, gave us so much pleasure and enjoyment. Roger Federer, thank you so much, your name is forever immortalised in the history of tennis, you'll be greatly missed but never ever forgotten.

Rafa's effort and determination, Novak's unbreakable mental strength, Roger's artistry and grace. I can't choose they are all GOATs in my book.

‘Strong men don’t cry’ they said. I’ve been told to myself this way for years. I’ve changed now. “A man never crys in front of his enemies. But if he is a true gentleman and loved by the whole wide world, it doesn’t matter ‘He crys or he smiles’” Roger is a great athlete and a wonderful human being. ❤❤❤

Rafa bawling his eyes out was heartbreaking. Rafa just realized exactly that his half of a life is completely gone. Roger's presence in his life (first as a fiercest rival, later also become the best of friend) become so routine it feels natural to have him around. I think it's just struck Rafa at that moment, that he now for sure won't feel that "natural presence" again. It's always easier for Rafa not knowing when Roger will be back on tour, like for the past 2 years. Now Rafa has confirmation that Roger won't be back ever again.

It's hard to make Rafa emotional. It's beyond rivalry, beyond competition. ❤️

For about two decades when you see a guy never show any awkward emotion or even a grimace when he lost due to injuries, to see that man today cry in front of the fans and really lay it out there is amazing. I sometimes misunderstood you , you are the greatest sporting personality of my generation and no one has worn their heart on their sleeve like you have in your farewell match speech. That will also be a record that would remain unbeaten.

A brilliant athlete, ambassador and artist of the sport. He was the reason tennis grew in scope and popularity around the world in the 2000s. I consider him not just the finest tennis player of all time, but one of the greatest sportsmen as well. A sad day for tennis and sports. I won't be sad that it's over, but glad that it happened. Roger forever 🇨🇭🇨🇭

Humility and integrity are two of the greatest traits in a champion. Roger has it in abundance as well as Rafa and that’s why they have a special place in our hearts. Thank you for the service you did Roger. You will always be a champion in the world’s heart.

Roger in tennis, Lee Chong Wei in badminton, Messi in football... These guys are gifts to the world. Wonders of the sporting world. None of them can be replicated ever. It's like they were physically and mentally designed to excel at their respective disciplines.
