I love the plaid shirted military analyst, Ni LeXiong's, commentary on the reasons for the PRC's nuclear arsenal expansion. He is, of course, completely correct: Russia has fared poorly in the battlefield but where would it be if it didn't have the world's largest nuclear arsenal? The arsenal alone is the reason why the US keeps having to slap Ukraine on the wrist for its occasional drone strikes in Russia and why the US won't give Ukraine long range missiles or permit it to attack Russian territory. Correction: it is not only Russia's arsenal but its willingness to engage in threatening talk and maneuvers with its nukes, just like the US does. China's no-first-strike rule makes it less threatening.

For the last two thousand years, China has been cultivating the character of facing dangerous stormy attacks from invading/colonizing barbarians. Therefore, it is not a new character but a well habituated character.

I honestly believed that the amount spent by China in military spending vs the US, is more comprehensive and focus oriented. The PLA doesn't have hundreds of military bases all over the world hence the savings. And the amount of kickbacks in the US military contractors / suppliers is bloating up the US spending. Next, the focus of hypersonic missiles in both PLA and the Russian army would render aircraft carriers obsolete. Thank you, CNA, for the awesome vids. May 2023.

I agree, they don't have to maintain large bases around the world, just focus on defending the mainland,. Also, the biggest portion of the US military spending goes to the profits of weapons manufacturers, so China gets more for every dollar they spend, probably twice as much.

Here is the English translation: As a Chinese, I can clearly tell the world that the criteria to judge whether the ruling party and leader of a country are good or bad are firstly, whether they can protect the safety of citizens both domestically and overseas, and secondly, whether their policies can effectively improve the food, clothing, housing, and transportation of common people. Our ruling party may not be perfect, but they have been working hard and striving. As the population of the largest country in the world, being able to lift over 800 million people out of poverty and hardship, instead of through launching wars and plundering foreign countries, is already an amazing achievement. We are rising peacefully, benefiting domestic people and also providing the whole world with quality inexpensive goods. Over 90% of our ethnic group is Han, but we never oppress or exploit the 10% ethnic minorities. On the contrary, ethnic minorities in China receive more support from the state. We are not jealous or envious, because they are also Chinese, only of different ethnicities. We Chinese people love our country, and love our Party even more, because they have led the formerly 400 million compatriots to gradually move from poverty to a well-off life step by step. Our Party may still have this or that problem, but looking from history, they have always been leading us to move forward instead of backward. Therefore, we will be tolerant and trusting of it.

@ 7:19 The PLA Navy has come a long way in a short time and the Chinese have every reason to be proud of what has been accomplished. Yet I must point out that by ship tonnage the US Navy is still twice the size of the PLA Navy. The US Navy has 11 fully operation nuclear powered super carriers operating cutting edge F-35C fifth generation fighters. The US Navy has well over a century of experience using aircraft carriers. This includes the only large scale carrier battles in history where the US Navy fought and roundly defeated the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1941-1945. The US Navy has more fast attack submarines, a type of nuclear powered vessel that appeared first in the US Navy (in 1954). The PLA Navy still has a ways to go to catch up to the US Navy.

Sino-American war. That’s not how you calculated it. . U.S. aircraft carriers cannot be deployed on the battlefield. . no room for survival In fact, both China and the United States have enough firepower to kill the other side on a large scale. . Whether it is overseas military bases. Or naval ships around the world. . Both sides are capable of killing each other's ships across the globe. This is why the leaders of China and the United States emphasized that "China and the United States must avoid conflict." Both sides are too powerful. China's asymmetric combat capabilities are sufficient to cover the entire world. and large and medium-sized mobile naval vessels in most of the Pacific. (Large and medium-sized. You are talking about F35C. . This is a subsonic fighter. . Its F135 is a large bypass ratio engine. High speed performance is poor. It is a large bypass ratio version of the F119. Hypersonic anti-ship missiles carried by Chinese submarines. Can attack mobile destroyers 6,000 kilometers away. What living space does the aircraft carrier have? 32:21 Well... it IS a province of China. Even the ROC themselves saw and see Taiwan as a part of China. Both the ROC and the PRC still officially (constitutionally) claim mainland China and the Taiwan Area as part of their respective territories. So it's a bit weird to see an US guy claim it's unfortunate the PLA defined Taiwan as part of China, while Taiwan itself defines itself as part as China. The only difference being, the ROC considers mainland China to be theirs, while the PLA considers Taiwan to be theirs. But basically, BOTH parties consider themselves part of China.

Which is true: on themselves, they're equally worth nothing. After all, opinions are like azzholes: everyone has one. They're a dime a dozen. Imho, the worth of an opinion comes from the substantiation of it, and the more logical and factual the arguments substantiating it are, the more worth the opinion has. But that's just me.

During the start of the Ukraine war Turkey invoked a 1936 agreement and warned all countries not to send warships through the Dardanelles and straits of Bosporus. The Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits regulates passage of ships through the Bosporus and the Dardanelles under both peacetime and war. We should have something similar in this region as well that allows complete freedom of navigation for commercial shipping during both peacetime and war but prevents foreign warships from transiting thru these waters during war time situations.

Nobody can fight wars and win with just mass of well-dressed soldiers and vast weaponry. The crux lies in the heart of every soldier, the reason to fight and to sacrifice for his people and country (not the political party). Modern history has shown that ill-equipped soldiers have defeated much larger and stronger forces---Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. Basic force is "will to fight and reason to sacrifice". This is where such doll-like armies lose terribly.

The question is did the military officers are tested with fire like the wester or Rusian counter parts?...I dought that. The argument is completely wrong. The Kuomintang army had a lot of so-called actual combat experience at the beginning of the war, and Japan was what you call child soldiers. The Japanese army even supplemented its loyalty to its own emperor at that time (even far less than the army that is loyal to the legion)), but the fact is that the Kuomintang army's record during World War II against the Japanese army, which seemed to be a feudal army, mostly ended in defeat. So your so-called concept of serving the country is hollow. The fundamental reason why the U.S. military is strong is the influence of weapons and religious factors, similar to the Crusaders in the Middle Ages.

The West (US and NATO) is concerned about the rise of the once backward PLA because they always wanted to maintain the leading role as the sole military power. With this power and the US dollar hegemony they can dictate their own terms and force developing countries to obey their rules. It is just a continuation of the days when the European Colonizers rampaged through Asia and Africa, colonizing any country at will. Although the WWII ended all this but sadly it had changed from a Euro-centric world to an American-centric one where Asian and African countries are still being "colonized" in a new form. It was only until the start of the Ukraine, did China responded meaningfully and successfully against the US hegemony despite being burdened with numerous sanctions against its companies ( exports and imports ) and key personnel.....

Well.. It's good to China built their military power, but it's very sad to saw China and India indulge in military tension free rho. Because India and China has relations in religious and some similarities in culture since from ancient time's especially between the Tamil culture and religious .. For example The ancient scholar Bodhi Dharma or in chines as Damo and Gautama siddartha Gautama Buddha...infact i saw there lots of Chinese people from China learn Tamil language and they also knew that this two ancient country's has related since thousands yrs back.. 🙏🏻

That's first thing the Chinese did, called religion a disease. They got thrashed by India in 1967 and again recently. They cannot fight a dedicated volunteer army, whose profession is fighting and have vast experience of the same in all terrains. Indian soldiers fight for their pride, people and nation, not for some political party.

Since the enactment of China's anti-espionage law, there have been many cases of foreigners being detained or arrested in China. Because "suspicious espionage" is mainly handled not only by public security but also by the National Security Agency, the interrogation is the most severe and the detention environment is inhumane. Following the passage of the Anti-Espionage Law, the local government's National Security Office enacted rules encouraging reporting of "espionage." Since 2017, the Beijing Municipal State Security Bureau has been offering rewards of up to 500,000 yuan (8.5 million yen; 645,400 US dollars) to encourage the informant system. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 It is a situation in which even Chinese people can be accused of "violating the law" simply by contributing to foreign newspapers or responding to interviews on foreign television. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 Anti-espionage law (Counter-espionage Law) is a law that regulates activities such as the National Security Agency, which was enacted in 2014 to crack down on "espionage activities". At the end of 2022, the Chinese government expanded the definition of "espionage" from the current law. He announced a plan to expand the "anti-espionage law" to strengthen the authority of the National Security Agency, which leads the crackdown, and penalties for those arrested. An expanded anti-espionage law is expected to be passed in the summer of 2023. The proposed expansion of the Anti-Espionage Law requires that state secret information be provided to a third party in a concrete manner as it is, and that documents and materials related to state secrets that may adversely affect national security or interests. Providing and "stealing" will also fall under "espionage". 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The proposed expansion of the "anti-espionage law" would greatly increase the powers of the National Security Agency, the agency that is responsible for the investigation, and could, for example, force tests on those targeted for "espionage" and ban them from leaving the country. Depending on the judgment of the National Security Agency, an extremely wide range of "information leaks" will be covered, and cases such as public information leaked from private companies and public institutions that do not comply with the intentions of the National Security Agency will be exposed. And if a person refuses an information request from the National Security Agency for "espionage" by a colleague or another person, that person can at least be fined. The proposed expansion of the "anti-espionage law" would allow the Chinese government to unfairly detain Japanese and foreigners in China, increasing scrutiny of Japanese and foreigners in China. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 A university professor was suddenly detained just before returning to Japan, and an appeal by a Japanese sentenced to prison was easily dismissed by the court. As the number of people has increased, the number of Japanese and foreigners who will be arrested will increase in the future due to the expansion of the definition of the "anti-espionage law". The Chinese government will give the State Security Agency the power to search the bags of those suspected of "espionage" and to bar citizens from leaving the country who may "endanger" national security. A “fine” is imposed for refusing to provide evidence of spying on others. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 In addition to the provision of "state secrets" under the current law, the proposed expansion of "espionage" includes "stealing" and "collecting" "other documents, data, materials, and goods related to national security and interests, etc. There is no mention of what is contrary to national security or interests. Collecting information about Chinese companies and collecting historical materials are also considered "espionage" if the National Security Administration determines that they are against "national interests." In the political report of the Communist Party Congress in October last year, Xi Jinping repeatedly referred to “national security,” calling on party members to “perform a comprehensive view of national security.” This "security view" presented in 2014 covers 11 items, including "politics," national land, military affairs, economy, and "culture." “Political security” refers to the maintenance and stability of the Communist Party regime. In China, where there is no alternative to the Communist Party, there is a perception that if the party loses power, the country will split and fall into chaos. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The powers of the National Security Agency are endlessly strengthened. The expanded proposal stipulates that electronic devices, equipment and programs of persons or organizations suspected of espionage can also be investigated. Many researchers and business people with connections to China will be affected by the proposed expansion. There are 17 Japanese detained in connection with the "anti-espionage law." In the future, this number will undoubtedly increase. Foreign researchers may be detained if they conduct research in China. Xi Jinping has strengthened his stance of emphasizing "national security," but the definition is ambiguous, and the government's arbitrary judgment is subject to exposure. In China, the Communist Party exists above the law. The proposed expansion of the "anti-espionage law" plays a greater role in keeping things out of China. Japanese and foreigners visiting China run the risk of being detained. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 In China, (1) the state can force Chinese nationals at home and abroad to carry out military activities in their respective countries (National Defense Mobilization Law, effective in 2010); (2) the state can force Chinese nationals at home and abroad to do spy activities in their respective countries. (National Intelligence Law, effective 2017). Chinese citizens who do not follow the instructions and orders of the Chinese government will be arrested and have no option to decline. Together, these two laws create the most dangerous security situation for every country. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The world will decouple from China and Russia. The world will put the most severe economic sanctios on China as we do on Russia. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦🇪🇺🇯🇵

Together, these two laws create the most dangerous security situation for every country. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 Everyone from FBI directors to FCC (Federal Communications Commission) commissioners to cybersecurity experts have made clear the risks of TikTok being used to spy on users. It mentions that the Chinese company collects TikTok user data, which it says includes users' (1) personal information, (2) intellectual property, and (3) location data. The Chinese Government could use Tiktok to collect data on billions of users or control the recommendation algorithm for ‘Influence Operation’. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 TikTok is owned and operated by Beijing-based Chinese company ByteDance, and Chinese law requires the app's data to be made available to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Under China's National Intelligence Law (effective 2017), the Chinese government can demand all data from all Chinese companies around the world. TikTok previously said all U.S. users are stored in the U.S., but in July confirmed that employees in China and outside the U.S. could access U.S. user data. At a congressional hearing in September, TikTok executives refused to promise to stop American data from flowing to China. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 TikTok's US privacy policy indicates the company may collect biometric identifiers and biometric information such as face prints and voice prints. TikTok's US privacy policy : “We may collect biometric identifiers and biometric information as defined under U.S. laws, such as faceprints and voiceprints, from your User Content. “ 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 TikTok’s parent company ByteDance's hiring criteria favor members of the Communist Party of China. Many managers, key figures and executives in the company are members of the CCP. To demonstrate its loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party, it hired more staff for the department that acts as a censorship agency and removed content that was not consistent with the Chinese government's wishes. In 2018, the Chinese government made Communist Party members of ByteDance pledge to sacrifice everything for the party and never leave the party. Tiktok can exist on any kind of website in the form of a Tiktok pixel/tracker, allowing Tiktok to collect data even if you have never used the app. Websites with embedded Tiktok videos can be used to place trackers on devices and steal usernames and passwords, credit card and banking information, and personal health details. TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, could share user data with the Chinese government to spy and spread disinformation. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇦 User Data TikTok Collects * Device of the user * IP address * Mobile carrier * Time zone settings * Model of the user's device * Device system * Network type * Device IDs * Screen resolution * Operating system * App and file names and types * Keystroke patterns or rhythms * Battery state * Audio settings * Connected audio devices * faceprints and voiceprints * Media metadata * Name * Date of birth * Phone number * email 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The government of Lithuania in Europe has called for a boycott of Chinese smartphones, citing surveillance features. In order to prevent Lithuanians from accessing information that is inconvenient for the Chinese government, China is indirectly monitoring it through mobile phones.🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 Lithuania has been calling for a boycott of Chinese smartphones because they have surveillance functions. In September 2021, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense warned that the products of Xiaomi, 小米集团, a major Chinese smartphone circulating in the country, have a built-in function to detect terms that the Chinese government is wary of and restrict the use of content. The ministry called on public institutions and consumers to boycott smartphones made in China and dispose of purchased products. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸 According to a report released by the Ministry of Defense, Xiaomi's smartphone had a built-in function to detect terms that the Chinese government warns against, such as "Free Tibet" and "Long live Taiwan independence." More than 400 terms are believed to be subject to monitoring, and if those terms are included in content downloaded by users, the download will be automatically blocked. It also confirmed that encrypted phone usage data was sent to a server in another country. A senior Lithuanian defense ministry official said: "We recommend that you do not buy new Chinese smartphones, and if you have already bought one, dispose of it as soon as possible." 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 China’s attempts to spread propaganda and disinformation emphasize speed over quality. Nobel prize, scientists: 25 Japanese, 2 Taiwanese, 3 Chinese. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 Taiwan "problem" is of utmost concern to Chinese operatives, many of whom are Chinese university students, who carry out the Chinese government-led propaganda "disinformation diffusion operation." Taiwan is one country and not part of China. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 There is no historical record available to show whether China undertook unbroken and continuous sovereignty actions against the Spratly Islands (southern South China Sea) prior to the Japanese occupation in 1939. China's territorial claims are groundless. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 After World War II, Japan renounced its claims to the Spratly Islands. However, it was not clear whether any state would inherit the right to claim the Spratly Islands (southern South China Sea). Therefore, there are no historical documents to support the Chinese government's claims. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The world will decouple from China and Russia. The world will put the most severe economic sanctions on China as we do on Russia. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇳🇿🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇸🇯🇵

Excellent documentary. People on both sides should see this and consider the alternatives that face this conundrum. China will continue to rise and it thinks it can achieve a developed state by peaceful means. The US feels China wants to dominate the world by replacing the US as hegemon of the world. This differing in thoughts are at the heart of the tensions between China and America. It is almost like two Christians from two different denominations arguing about who is more right but missing the big picture of common goals that should be there for all mankind. BTW, the US Congress has fallen in the same trap. Instead of focusing on common good and mutual alignment, Congress is a divided house with no end in sight.

This is emphasized now, but Russia and China as often antagonistic neighbors in the past (they fought a short war over a river island on their land border in the 1960s). So Russia, who has neither the manpower or the ships (many of these are in the Black Sea blockading Ukraine, and many of these vessels are over 40 years old) is little use to China, in either sea, land or air support in the Pacific. The only use Russia is to China is an alternative petroleum supply (for where there is scant pipelines now into China), and food supplies, which are long and difficult to send by sea now and impossible in a world war (okay by land, but takes 30 to 50 freight train loads to one shipload). Russia is China's fair weather friend. Any falling out between Xi and Putin, and it goes back to hostile neutrality mode.

1/ 6:20 China's defense budget doesn't include the Coast Guard nor the healthcare expenses for active and former military, whereas the US' does. China's defense spending is a lot higher than what the numbers indicate. 2/ 8:50 You left out mentioning China bought the former Soviet aircraft carrier from Ukraine specifically. 3/ 10:18 The main reason why some Somali fishermen even resorted to piracy is because China and Kenya kept illegally fishing in Somalian and Yemeni waters and depleting it. The two along with other actors also dumped waste illegally in their waters, polluting it because they knew they could get away with it. 4/ 19:50 The war being vaguely referenced here is China's invasion of Vietnam in 1979 which it lost against a battered Vietnam which had been at war since the 1940s, first against France, then the US, then China-ally Khmer Rouge-era Cambodia, which Vietnam toppled in 1971 prompting the Chinese invasion.

I copied this post from a Taiwanese guy named Tigger Hanson ..... I was born in Taiwan and would like to share with you about the change of Taiwan in the last 15 years: During 2008 and 2016, people in Taiwan and China have been very friendly. The tourist industry and the trade benefitted Taiwan tremendously. Both sides shared a agreement (i.e., The 1992 Consensus) that people from both sides were Chinese even though they have different systems and they made the “One China” interpretations in their own ways (OCI). However, there is always a group of people in Taiwan refusing to admit that their ancestors were Chinese and they chose whatever ways to undermine the eventual unification of the China and Taiwan. In 2016, this group or Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won the election by spreading the hatred of China and again in 2020 by exploiting the fear of Hong Kong's riot. The elected president tore up The 1992 Consensus and started cutting all ties with China including changing the official Chinese history books for students. After Trump was elected president, he accepted the congratulation phone call from Taiwan's president, which breaks the US-China tradition since 1979. For president Trump, Taiwan is the best dagger he can use to attack China. He increased the weapon sales to Taiwan along with the trade wars and tech wars against China. After the outbreak of COVID-19, Trump grew desperate and blamed China on spreading the virus as the main strategy of his re-election. He sent the high level officials from US to Taiwan to provoke China. For example, they cut off the mask supply to China in January 2020 and they refuse to bring the Taiwanese in Wuhan back to the island. They spread lies that WHO failed to heed warning from DPP and demanded the resignation of Tedros. They also require that anyone from China would have to be quarantined for 14 days even when the virus in Wuhan had been under control. The Taiwan president kept calling WuHan Virus to enrage her base just like Trump until the end of his presidency. And, DPP made no effort rejecting Trump's request to move TSMC's most advanced production to Arizona and ban semiconductor sales to Huawei. In case you don't know, TSMC is considered the silicon shield of Taiwan since it is a national treasure that China would not want to destroy. It is hard to blame the people in China that they felt betrayed since DPP used the huge trade surplus $150 Billion) with China to buy weapons from USA. In 2022, Pelosi as the 2nd person in the US presidential line of succession, provoked China again by visiting Taiwan. Washington's goal is to steal TSMC and Ukraine-ize Taiwan. And, China Hawks in Washington and Think Tanks would like Taiwanese to fight to the last person if the war breaks out. Taiwan's ruling party, DPP, is happy to play the anti-China card to hang on to its power by spreading lies to fool Taiwanese. For example, DPP, in late 2020, shut down a major TV station (CTI News equivalent to Fox or CNN in the USA) which supported the opposing party. And, the justice department is fully controlled by DPP. Taiwan is no longer a democratic country as US government and media are trying to paint such picture to fool American people and the world. The good news is that Taiwanese started to realize that USA is preparing to dump Taiwan as Trump/Biden forced TSMC to transfer their most advanced semi-conductor manufacturing technology to USA. Therefore, if the war breaks out, USA can afford sitting on the sideline. The war game simulation further revealed that Congress had no intention sending US troops to fight PLA. Let us pray that the Taiwanese people would wake up and throw out the DPP regime in the 2024 election. Then, Taiwan and the whole world will be much safer.

Firstly, some paragraphs would make reading much easier. When the ROC escaped to Formosa in 1949, the island still officially belonged to Japan. The spoken languages were Japanese, Aboriginal indigenous languages plus any Chinese descendants living on the island spoke Hokkien & Hakka. Therefore to consider that Taiwan was for a Han Chinese Mandarin speaking region in 1949 is false. DNA genealogy of Taiwan aboriginals who had controlled the island for 30000 years have no DNA link to China what so ever. China's DNA links with Japan, Korea & Vietnam. The aboriginals DNA closely links with Polynesians and the East Timorese region (even New Zealand). Therefore to state that Taiwan has always been Chinese is BS. Now for the legal facts: The fact is, there are no international recognized, treaties, policies, agreements or UN resolutions that state that Taiwan is part of China. China or the CCP have no sovereignty and in fact very little historical claim of Taiwan. There is far too much distorted information that has spread all the way to the top. History is always debateable so I will keep my information to post 1943 official information. There is no ambiguity, the status of Taiwan is clear. I have tried to include all the information and was difficult to keep concise. 1: The Cairo Declaration 1943 discussed the possibility of handing the island of Taiwan to the ROC. This discussion required a treaty to become official and was never implemented. (I will prove later) 2: October 1, 1949, at 3:00 pm in Tienanmen Square the formation of the Central People's Government under the leadership of the CPC, the government of the new state, was officially proclaimed. Mao declared victory to the people stating, “The poor peasants have conquered the country; the poor peasants should now sit on the country.” “It is because we have defeated the reactionary Kuomintang government backed by U.S. imperialism that this great unity of the whole people has been achieved. In a little more than three years the heroic Chinese People's Liberation Army, “ The CPC won the civil war and the PRC was formed and the ROC escaped to the still official Japanese island of Formosa in 1949 The war is over. 3: The Treaty of San Francisco: When Japan relinquished its sovereignty of Taiwan by signing The Treaty of San Francisco in 1952, proves that the ROC had escaped to the still official Japanese island. The treaty was signed by 49 nations but both the ROC and CCP were NOT invited. 4: The Taipei Peace Treaty: Due to objections by The Soviet Union of the Treaty of San Francisco, The Taipei Peace Treaty 1952 was created. Article 10 of the Taipei Peace Treaty stipulates that “nationals of the Republic of China shall be deemed to include all the inhabitants and former inhabitants of Taiwan (Formosa) and Penghu (the Pescadores).” Therefore, the Taipei Peace Treaty transferred Japan's sovereignty of Taiwan to ALL the inhabitants living of the island NOT to mainland China. The inhabitants in 1952 were the ROC escapees, Taiwanese Aborigines, Japanese descendants, Dutch descendants, Portuguese descendants, previous Chinese descendants. The island was never handed to mainland China. 5: The One China Policy 1979/1982 does not state that Taiwan is part of China. To quote directly from this US/CCP 1979 agreement (1982 version is the same): "The Government of the United States of America acknowledges the Chinese position that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China." This statement merely states that the US acknowledges or recognizes China's position or opinion that Taiwan is part of China. The US acknowledges or recognizes China's point of view. E.g. I can acknowledge that my friend is a Republican even though my political stance may be Democrat, it does not state that Taiwan is part of China. As an addition, The One China Policy also states the following: "Neither should seek hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region or in any other region of the world and each is opposed to efforts by any other country or group of countries to establish such hegemony." The CCP have broken this agreement by claiming the Taiwan Straight and The South China Sea as their sovereign territory upsetting countries such as Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and others. The CCP are also disputing several Japanese islands as well. The One China Policy has been broken by the CCP not as claimed the US. The CCP need to understand that by signing the One China Policy they benefitted greatly in foreign investment and entry into the WTO. China is what it is today thanks to the One China Policy. 6: The Taiwan Relations Act was created between Taiwan and US in 1979 to coincide with the One China Policy but is often ignored. The TWA factually proves that the US is not meddling in Taiwan's affair it is merely fulfilling its obligations as per the agreement. To quote from the TWA: "Declares it to be the policy of the United States to preserve and promote extensive, close, and friendly commercial, cultural, and other relations between the people of the United States and the people on Taiwan, ".... "Authorizes the President or any department and agency to conduct and carry out programs, transactions, and other relations with respect to the people on Taiwan." Therefore the Pelosi visit or any official governmental visit is legitimate and of no concern to the CCP. TWA also declares: "that the United States shall provide Taiwan with arms of a defensive character and shall maintain the capacity of the United States to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardize the security, or social or economic system, of the people of Taiwan." Therefore again the US is NOT meddling into Taiwan/China affairs it is again fulfilling its obligatory agreement irrespective of the CCP's propagandist responses. 7: The UN never officially introduced official policy stating that Taiwan is part of China. “UN Resolution No. 2758 ruled in 1971, that the PRC had obtained the representation rights and all legal rights originally owned by the ROC in the UN”. It is true that UN recognition was handed to the CPC as they were the ruling government of China not the ROC . The officially written UN resolution does not state that Taiwan is part of China. FACT Therefore as clearly demonstrated above, Taiwan is not part of China. Irrespective of whether Taiwan is considered a country or not does not automatically cede the island to China. For those who wish to read the official UN resolution 2758 it is pasted directly below: Resolution 2758 (XXVI) THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY. Recalling the principles of the Charter of the United Nations. Considering the restoration of the lawful rights of the People's Republic of China is essential both for the protection of the Charter of the United Nations and for the cause that the United Nations must serve under the Charter. Recognizing that the representatives of the Government of the People's Republic of China are the only lawful representatives of China to the United Nations and that the People's Republic of China is one of the five permanent members of the Security Council. Decides to restore all its rights to the People's Republic of China and to recognize the representatives of its Government as the only legitimate representatives of China to the United Nations, and to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupy at the United Nations and in all the organizations related to it. There is more but I have made my point. There is no ambiguity, the only legal way that the CCP can unify with Taiwan is via an official written treaty.

Apt description of the current situation in Taiwan, During Ma Ying Jeou tenure we were elated he took a right step to create a harmonious coexistence with PRC. Trade flow and exchange had benefited both sides of the Strait The American which intention to divide and conquer were assiduously infiltrating into ROC politics hoping to get a strong foothold on Taiwan managed to snare the DPP leaderships especially thru their NGOs,especially they had been monitoring for scapegoat for sometimes. We can only hope sane decision must be made ,especially the citizens of both sides of the strait are of same descent Never be used by this hegemon to becomes a laughing stock to our race, speaking as an oversea Chinese

This help me understand China better. I’m from Malaysia. China has traded with Malaysia for 2000 years. In those years, they had been the world’s biggest powers many times. Never once they sent troops to take our land. Admiral Zheng He came to Malacca five times, in gigantic fleets, and a flagship eight times the size of Christopher Columbus’ flagship, Santa Maria. He could have seized Malacca easily, but he did not. In 1511, the Portuguese came. In 1642, the Dutch came. In the 18th century the British came. We were colonised by each, one after another. When China wanted spices from India, they traded with the Indians. When they wanted gems, they traded with the Persian. They didn’t take lands. The only time China expanded beyond their current borders was in Yuan Dynasty, when Genghis and his descendants Ogedei Khan, Guyuk Khan & Kublai Khan concurred China, Mid Asia and Eastern Europe. But Yuan Dynasty, although being based in China, was a part of the Mongolian Empire. Then came the Century of Humiliation. Britain smuggled opium into China to dope the population, a strategy to turn the trade deficit around, after the British could not find enough silver to pay the Qing Dynasty in their tea and porcelain trades. After the opium warehouses were burned down and ports were closed by the Chinese in ordered to curb opium, the British started the Opium War I, which China lost. Hong Kong was forced to be surrendered to the British in a peace talk (Nanjing Treaty). The British owned 90% of the opium market in China, during that time, Queen Victoria was the world’s biggest drug baron. The remaining 10% was owned by American merchants from Boston. Many of Boston’s institutions were built with profit from opium. After 12 years of Nanjing Treaty, the West started getting really really greedy. The British wanted the Qing government: 1. To open the borders of China to allow goods coming in and out freely, and tax free. 2. Make opium legal in China. Insane requests, Qing government said no. The British and French, with supports from the US and Russia from behind, started Opium War II with China, which again, China lost. The Anglo-French military raided the Summer Palace, and threatened to burn down the Imperial Palace, the Qing government was forced to pay with ports, free business zones, 300,000 kilograms of silver and Kowloon was taken. Since then, China’s resources flew out freely through these business zones and ports. In the subsequent amendment to the treaties, Chinese people were sold overseas to serve as labor. In 1900, China suffered attacks by the 8-National Alliance(Japan, Russia, Britain, France, USA, Germany, Italy, Austria-Hungary). Innocent Chinese civilians in Peking (Beijing now) were murdered, buildings were destroyed & women were raped. The Imperial Palace was raided, and treasures ended up in museums like the British Museum in London and the Louvre in Paris. In late 1930s China was occupied by the Japanese in WWII. Millions of Chinese died during the occupancy. 300,000 Chinese died in Nanjing Massacre alone. Mao brought China together again from the shambles. There were peace and unity for some time. But Mao’s later reign saw sufferings and deaths from famine and power struggles. Then came Deng Xiao Ping and his infamous “black-cat and white-cat” story. His preference in pragmatism than ideologies has transformed China. This thinking allowed China to evolve all the time to adapt to the actual needs in the country, instead of rigidly bounded to ideologies. It also signified the death of Communism in actually practice in China. The current Socialism+Meritocracy+Market Economy model fits the Chinese like gloves, and it propels the uprise of China. Singapore has a similar model, and has been arguably more successful than Hong Kong, because Hong Kong being gateway to China, was riding on the economic boom in China, while Singapore had no one to gain from. In just 30 years, the CPC have moved 800 millions of people out from poverty. The rate of growth is unprecedented in human history. They have built the biggest mobile network, by far the biggest high speed rail network in the world, and they have become a behemoth in infrastructure. They made a fishing village called Shenzhen into the world’s second largest technological centre after the Silicon Valley. They are growing into a technological power house. It has the most elaborate e-commerce and cashless payment system in the world. They have launched exploration to Mars. The Chinese are living a good life and China has become one of the safest countries in the world. The level of patriotism in the country has reached an unprecedented height. For all of the achievements, the West has nothing good to say about it. China suffers from intense anti-China propagandas from the West. Western Media used the keyword “Communist” to instil fear and hatred towards China. Everything China does is negatively reported. They claimed China used slave labor in making iPhones. The truth was, Apple was the most profitable company in the world, it took most of the profit, leave some to Foxconn (a Taiwanese company) and little to the labor. They claimed China was inhuman with one-child policy. At the same time, they accused China of polluting the earth with its huge population. The fact is the Chinese consume just 30% of energy per capita compared to the US. They claimed China underwent ethnic cleansing in Xinjiang. The fact is China has a policy which priorities ethnic minorities. For a long time, the ethnic minorities were allowed to have two children and the majority Han only allowed one. The minorities are allowed a lower score for university intakes. There are 39,000 mosque in China, and 2100 in the US. China has about 3 times more mosque per muslim than the US. When terrorist attacks happened in Xinjiang, China had two choices: 1. Re-educate the Uighur extremists before they turned terrorists. 2. Let them be, after they launch attacks and killed innocent people, bomb their homes. China chose 1 to solve problem from the root and not to do killing. How the US solve terrorism? Fire missiles from battleships, drop bombs from the sky. During the pandemic, When China took extreme measures to lockdown the people, they were accused of being inhuman. When China recovered swiftly because of the extreme measures, they were accused of lying about the actual numbers. When China’s cases became so low that they could provide medical support to other countries, they were accused of politically motivated. Western Media always have reasons to bash China. Just like any country, there are irresponsible individuals from China which do bad and dirty things, but the China government overall has done very well. But I hear this comment over and over by people from the West: I like Chinese people, but the CPC is evil. What they really want is the Chinese to change the government, because the current one is too good. Fortunately China is not a multi-party democratic country, otherwise the opposition party in China will be supported by notorious NGOs (Non-Government Organization) of the USA, like the NED (National Endowment for Democracy), to topple the ruling party. The US and the British couldn’t crack Mainland China, so they work on Hong Kong. Of all the ex-British colonial countries, only the Hong Kongers were offered BNOs by the British. Because the UK would like the Hong Kongers to think they are British citizens, not Chinese. A divide-and-conquer strategy, which they often used in Color Revolutions around the world. They resort to low dirty tricks like detaining Huawei’s CFO & banning Huawei. They raised a silly trade war which benefits no one. Trade deficit always exist between a developing and a developed country. USA is like a luxury car seller who ask a farmer: why am I always buying your vegetables and you haven’t bought any of my cars? When the Chinese were making socks for the world 30 years ago, the world let it be. But when Chinese started to make high technology products, like Huawei and DJI, it caused red-alert. Because when Western and Japanese products are equal to Chinese in technologies, they could never match the Chinese in prices. First world countries want China to continue in making socks. Instead of stepping up themselves, they want to pull China down. The recent movement by the US against China has a very important background. When Libya, Iran, and China decided to ditch the US dollar in oil trades, Gaddafi’s was killed by the US, Iran was being sanctioned by the US, and now it’s China’s turn. The US has been printing money out of nothing. The only reason why the US Dollar is still widely accepted, is because it’s the only currency which oil is allowed to be traded with. The US has an agreement with Saudi that oil must be traded in US dollar ONLY. Without the petrol-dollar status, the US dollars will sink, and America will fall. Therefore anyone trying to disobey this order will be eliminated. China will soon use a gold-backed crypto-currency, the alarms in the White House go off like mad. China’s achievement has been by hard work. Not buy looting the world. I have deep sympathy for China for all the suffering, but now I feel happy for them. China is not rising, they are going back to where they belong. Good luck China. -C L “Christopher Columbus didn’t discover anything, instead he just got lost” -Tasia Grzenia 💐

The "Columbia Lippincott Gazetteer of the World," published in 1961, states that the Spratly Islands are "a Chinese territory in the South China Sea, part of Guangdong Province." The "World Book Encyclopedia," published in the United States in 1963, states: "The islands of the People's Republic of China also include islands and coral reefs in the South China Sea that extend as far as the 4th parallel north." The "Encyclopedia of the World's Regional Geography," published in 1971, states: "The People's Republic includes several archipelagos, the largest of which is Hainan Island, near the south coast. Other archipelagos include some reefs and archipelagos in the South China Sea, extending as far as the 4th parallel north. What floors me the most about this documentary is how much Xi is interested in the youth and their success, like the father I never had. Hard work is rewarded. Nothing like my American experience. Here in USA hard working young people are just blood meal for the ancient vampires running this country. Success is more determined by wealth and connections at birth than any action we might take. There is zero shared interest, no central planning goes into education. I was a naive young man. I thought my success was linked to my nation when I went to university. Graduated 07 and have never had a job that required the degree. It turns out default on student debt is a desirable thing for USA since it’s “profitable” when people can’t pay back and are trapped as debt slaves for life.

The perception is that Russia has fared poorly on the battlefield in Ukraine. However, military experts agree that this perception is driven mostly by the English speaking media. Russia has pulled Ukraine into attrition because the Russian command wants the war to outlast all western military aid to Ukraine. Its working. However, the only thing that is preventing NATO boots on the ground is Russia's nuclear arsenal. Thus, it makes nuclear deterrence desirable when a nation with vast resources like China wants to invade Taiwan but doesn't want the world to come knocking on its doorstep trying to stop it.

Say what you may but I believe the Chinese military is not upgrading and expanding fast enough. I would double my efforts if I had a country that has gone to war with nearly every other nation on this earth either openly or covertly threatening me directly again and again. Especially when that country has no other means of maintaining its current global hegemony on account of how its own country is rapidly falling apart and its population decaying from inside.
@radiofreealbemuth8540

Decaying? China is having the most rapid demographic/population collapse and most rapidly aging population in human history right now. You’re on the steep downslope now.

In short - I believe only in one thing. ' Balance of Powers ' There must be a balance of powers in this world for the world to be able to operate relatively in peace especially for the superpower countries. The problem is, the world isn't operates without weapons. If it is without weapons then it will certainly in peace. Furthermore, no one country can ensure what is in the mind of these country. What weapons would they advance to, their characters, heart, attitudes, ambitions, etc. All these enbolden a country. Weaponisation with ambitions means the risk are always there for conflicts. China emerges during a period on which in it surrounding are powerful nations Economically & militarily & also somehow hostile in nature. In order to achieve balance of power for peaceful purpose as a deterent of sort ( since we can't do away without weapons either). It is advisable for China to make a mandatory for students at age of say 18 to 20 years old to go for compulsory National Military Program/Service for 2 years & to compensate with extention in their retirements age by 2 years. So called be ready for peaceful purposes. Considering China's borderlines are so long. Besides, due to huge population, in any attrition war, internal chaotic, uprisings, strikes, demonstration in any cities are common will naturally bode down a country & may breakup as well. During war, a country doesn't have time to attend to any others things. Invaders would then takes advantages, they may not interest in whole China but only certain part by supplying weapons & they just simply become universal robot soldiers for others & they've plenty of foods & unlike others part. So, to maintain internal peace & stability, the extra two millions or so experienced through military program students would be very helpful & may actually save a country. In this case, overcoming internal storms during war times. ( if uprising occurs only in 1 city, it may be alright but if it happens in 30 or 50 cities then the country is gone ). However, the best of all to achieve peace for the world through balance of power is every countries to do away with ' Defence Department ' . Maintaining only a small forces to handle any rascals matters. For better world Bang broadcast corp

China is the largest trading nation in the world. It is the largest Economy in the world in PPP terms...and likely to be the largest by 2027 in nominal terms. Why is it wrong for the largest economy to have a Military befitting its economic size...or should it still have the military capability of Rwanda..? to be called a Peacefull Country.. China only allocates less than 1.7 % of its GDP to Defense ..less than US 3.4%,India 2.6 % and even Singapore at 3%. The US has chilled NATO countries for spending not enough on their defence and has targetted NATO countries to allocate 2% of their GDP for defence. If this is so ,China in REALITY IS UNDERALLOCATING FUNDS FOR ITS DEFENSE... China has not Fought a Single War or Arm Conflict for the last 45 years and is called a potential war instigator..by the West and its Allies..whereas US and its Allies has been involve in not less than 30?40?Wars...bombings,regime change..etc etc ..in the same 45 years...has a Free Pass... It sure cannot be logical and somehow the West( Superiority complex ?) depict that China ( for the matter of fact India, Indonesia etc ) are not entittle to have the largest military in the world to correspond to its land size, its population, its industrial might,Economy and Trading Scale... If you are the world largest Economy ..why cant you also have the world largest military..to protect your interest? All Superpowers Are Bullies to a certain degree from the Romans to the Spanish ,French ,German ,British, Japan, and US.. But the biggest and scariest difference today is that Superpowers can end the Human specie unilaterally....so lets not provoke and "add wood to the Fire" . We must recognize MULTIPOLARITY and the back and front yard concept for Each superpower ....or we all end up with no YARD.. This is the only Approach for the world to last a few more peacefull generations..before we annihiliate each other..

As a Chinese, I think what you said is very reasonable. We love peace very much and hope for world peace. It's just because some countries continue to provoke wars to interfere in their internal affairs, seek misconduct, and do dangerous things all the time. We have to become stronger to better protect our motherland. There is an old saying in China: When friends come, they have wine, and when wolves, tigers and leopards come, they have shotguns. We are not afraid of trouble and do not cause trouble, China is the most peaceful country

Thank you for a fairly objective portrayal of the Chinese. However there are a number of inaccuracies. 31:00 First time that I have heard of this claim. What are her sources? It is well known there were dummy warheads. 32:00 This is false. This expert is not aware of one country two systems. In the case for Taiwan, the details are not yet negotiated.

China should build more ships so that she could gain better experience in faster and more efficient production methodology as the newly developed economies will have to equip themselves once they can afford to have better equipped armies! By then, China may have to be able to produce say a dozen destroyers at one go! or a dozen submarines ....
