If you genuinely know your rights and an officer violates them, handle that in court, that's where you bring all the documentation to prove your point

Im not saying he’s racist, but it seems the driver has had a number of run ins with the law and probably feels violated in the past, and wants to prevent that from happening again. I still remember when I was stopped by police four different times two years ago in October and just stopped driving in the area I felt I was being harassed in. Seems like this guy found another solution.

Thanks to more recent laws, these people are being GIVEN extra opportunities to try and lie their way out of situations or make a run for it. They already had him on a suspended licence. They should have been able to just arrest the guy, but they were forced to be as patient as possible and wait for him to either comply or resist arrest. Why would the laws be changed to protect people who can't even follow the SIMPLEST of rules? I don't like abusive cops either, but lots of innocent ones are being falsely accused of harassment for trying to do what's right. From what I've seen, most people are doing at least one thing on a regular basis that's illegal. They just haven't been caught yet, because it's a minor crime (such as theft or vandalism). Nobody has the time to deal with the small stuff, even though getting away with it constantly is what leads to them doing more major things if they don't have any sense of morality to root them. Humanity is so disgusting!

In legal terms, driving typically refers to a person who is operating a motor vehicle that travels from one location to another. Traveling often refers to moving in a vehicle as the passenger, and not the driver. Or traveling by horse, or traveling on foot.

Most cops are really nice folk. A couple of weeks ago I got pulled over by a Sheriff when I was going 75 mph on a 55 mph highway.( It was straight and empty for at least 10 miles before it turned into mountain pass roads.) I knew I was speeding, but I still gave him all my paperwork, I was still polite and complied with what he needed. Because of that, he let me off with a verbal warning and told me to stay safe and have a nice day. Most police officers just want you to behave in a safe manner and dont fuck with you if you dont break the law. #BlueLivesMatter

If you are a passenger you are traveling and have the right to do so unhindered. But as a driver you are conveying and must prove you can do so for the safety of your passengers and the general public. That is what a drivers license is for, proving you are capable of operating a vehicle safely and are aware of the road regulations.

If one of his previous arrests was associated with that car or if they looked up the registered owner from the tag and then used LexNex to see relatives or close associates and continued from there. Either way, it would’ve taken some extra work to find that out unless they were familiar with him. If he wasn’t such a dumbass; he could’ve easily fought this in court and won with burden of proof falling to the officer.

These guys have no idea what profiling is… and the way you deal with it is not this. Be polite, let the police do their thing, follow the law and everyone goes home safe (police and public). My hubby and I were profiled for years the amount of time wasted pulled over was a lot, we discovered via traffic stops law agencies we didn’t even know existed… and never a ticket or warning ever issued. Oddly enough, and I only know this from Arizona. But in AZ, there literally is not a law on the books that requires a drivers license to drive on surface steeets. Only to drive on a highway, or youre a commercial driver. That was cool as hell to learn about. I didnt give up my license and try to test it tho lol

Just to point out the obvious, I live in NC, NC law does require you to prove you have a valid driver's license if the officer observed you operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway, how you choose to prove that is a gray area, but it specifically states that you are required to do so, personally, ive done that by DL# and had zero issue, experiences may vary, how you behave plays a large part in that

To my understanding the only place anyone ever got away with using the arguments of being a traveler and not needing a license was California and simply because there was no specific law in the state that required it but that was years ago and the guy was driving his own fully owned vehicle and the judge didn't want to deal with the headache. But if you're ANYWHERE that has laws on the books about licensing ect (everywhere now) this argument no longer applies 😂
