@grizzlywhisker i agree with you. When someone say "Lars did good on this song" - it makes me laugh. He hadn't been good ever. Especially since we have really good drummers like Neil Peart, Billy Cobham, Mike Portnoy etc.etc.etc

@Vytautas Pilkauskas Guys who live the type of lifestyles that these guys have lived rarely, if ever, live to see 90. I hope they do, but having come over 2/3 of your life means you're old. And these guys are still playing speed-metal songs they wrote in their 20s'. That's impressive.

I remember when I used this track for a music class assignment in high- school back around 1990 and my teacher frowned upon it. @Brian J. Carnevale some are only drawn to music from something being "a hit" already or the artist having some persona/notoriety they are attracted to. The actual substance of the music is the least of their concerns.

Nice story. You have to feel it. Few do sometimes.
Edgelord-senpai Aylar önce
Your teacher needs to be committed. Metallica is one of the most iconic music bands in existence, and it's not because they're overhyped or just have a cult following. Their pure talent, energy, down-to-earth personalities, and creativity are why they're the unrivalled gods of metal. Your teacher probably thinks rock/metal is just "a bunch of noise", yet most heavy and thrash metal is influenced by blues, country, and classical. ESPECIALLY Metallica, they proudly display that influence and translate it flawlessly.

The way the instrumentals tell the story in the end has always amazed me.
