The fundamentals of Alibaba. Sourcing products from China is a great way to start your own business. Alibaba.com is a website that facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers. Suppliers post their products on Alibaba and buyers can purchase these products from anywhere in the world.

For the most parts these suppliers are located in China and other Asian countries though there are a few sellers in United States as well.

The goal of sourcing products through Alibaba is to either
(1) Sell the products on your own website or on eBay, Amazon.
(2) Create a private label and sell products under your own brand
(3) Get manufacturing for a unique products in China.

Whatever the reason, Alibaba is the best way to start your own business. This mini-series will give you a step by step guide on how to do it.

Thanks so much for sharing very important information in detail. ..i followed ur guidelines and now am dealing with manufacturer on watsapp. ..but there's a prob..my supplier is avoiding to make a contact on alibaba security payment system instead he wants to do direct buyer to seller contract using email to send contract. he says alibaba will need clearance from them. each n every thing is done ..what to do plz advise? ?? thanks.

Great info here! I juts have a question... Where you are working with Private Labelling, you dont have to register that Brand some how before get the supplier work on your product?

if you want to protect your brand then you can register it but you don't HAVE to do it. As far as the supplier is concerned they don't care.. they just want to be paid

Thanks a lot for the video. It was very informative. I have a question. How can I be the middle man without ever seeing the product. Where someone orders a product of my website and it goes to me then I make the official order then the product gets shipped to customer without me seeing the product.

What you're looking for is dropshipping. Customer comes to your site, orders, you collect payment, pay your supplier and they ship it to your customer. It can be done and many people do it, BUT you need to trust your supplier. I would recommend avoiding drop shipping until you've worked with your supplier for a few months and can trust their quality

When the products get sent to you, how do you ship out the orders? UPS,FedEx? Do I have to bring to a post office?

USPS is cheap but slow. Fedex and UPS are expensive but fast. If you ship a lot, you can negotiate prices with all 3

let me explain better when you compare Alibaba with Amazon. Amazone is an American B2C e-commerce transaction but, Alibaba is a Chinese B2B.

Also i was wondering if I have to deal with the customs????... let's say that I order 200 pcs of whatever from any suppliers in China using Alibaba to any place in USA (Amazon Warehouse).... Who have to deal with the customs process??

Duty is dependent on several factors including (1) type or product (2) origin (3)destination (4) $ value (5)materials etc etc. There's no way to generalize tariff costs. You can use www.importcalculator.com/ for an estimate.

Depends on the country and how corrupt the customs official is. Some countries, even the UK can charge 100% duty and tax.
