Opponents were not easy: Denmark, Russia (which kicked out the powerful Spain) and England. Croatia went to overtime three times, two of which went to penalties, and in all three games they were better and could have won in 90 minutes, but they were unlucky. And in the final, Croatia lost their confidence after an own goal and a penalty, even if they were better in the first half
