Alesha W2 aylar önce
It wasn’t a decade but I kept my son’s convertible bed for 5 years. It went from infant to toddler and had the capability to be used as a full size headboard for adolescence. We then changed the furniture and gave it to a friend. If you keep the pieces together with tape and plastic baggies, it’s very much possible ☺️

I built my kiddo a fort bed! I hope she remembers it when she’s older. It was a loft with a slide and a castle play area underneath, but after it was beyond repair, we put in a foundation to keep the mattress raised, and flipped the old loft framework upside down to drape a unicorn tapestry that acts as a canopy. She has autism so I know having her space enclosed helps her feel “happy healthy comfortable safe”, while also not being any sort of hazard while sleeping 🥰

I had the same twin mattress from age five to age twenty-three when I upgraded to my Mom's hand-me-down queen mattress she'd had since she got married. I finally bought my first mattress last year when I was twenty-four...Now that I think about it, we moved so often that my brother and I could have very well swapped twin mattresses between homes and we'd have never known...so I may have had his mattress for a while lol
Audrey Doyle2 aylar önce
Kudos to any mama that can keep their 3-10 year old from jumping straight through those boards, or snapping a dowel

The most expensive baby shower gift I received was from my husband's boss. I picked out the crib I wanted and they bought it for me. So you bought the expensive frame but then you have to buy the different size mattresses and the sheets they sell specifically for this model but will this company still be around when you have to convert to the next stage or do you buy everything up front and dust off the old full mattress at the end? (I know, run-on)
cindy cindy2 aylar önce
This seems like more trouble than it's worth. It looks like it could topple over and the slats have to be a certain distance from each other. Idk if this one is correct or not. Cribs these days are convertible to grow as the child does. My 5 yr old granddaughter sleeps in a full size bed that started out as her crib. The only extra purchase was the bigger mattress.
Jeanne Prieto2 aylar önce
We got one of those “forever” beds that was supposed to go from crib to toddler bed to a full sized big kid bed. It didn’t make it past the toddler phase because I failed to realize teething babies are like beavers. The bed was all chewed up…literally.

This is actually super cute tho and can be used at even when they get older, such a smart idea I might actually look into getting this, does anyone know what it’s called?
mangana2152 aylar önce
I feel like it would break in the middle since there is no support for the boards For little kids it may work as long as they aren't to brusque getting on the bed? But if the older kids move too much on it, I feel like it would snap 🤔🤔 The idea is great! I just feel like it needs a bit more support
GeekMyths2 aylar önce
i feel like they went a bit extreme. like birth to like young child would be great since they grow so fast, but like anything above 7 seems too old
Maavien2 aylar önce
And a lower "bed board" otherways kids who can stand up might fall down on the floor.
CrazyDragy2 aylar önce
@Maavien Exactly, Why is the bed higher the younger the child is?? That's just dangerous.
Flo2 aylar önce
@CrazyDragy Are you a parent?… it’s higher the younger they are because it’s easier for the parents to pick them up when they are a newborn, and they can’t get out on their own. As they become babies, you lower it so they can’t get out as they are able to stand. And once they become toddler, you remove the barriers so they can get in and out on their own. What seems “dangerous” here? All cribs function like this.
CrazyDragy2 aylar önce
@Flo I wasn't talking about the baby bed, and for the record I've lived through and with 3 babies now. the toddler one is literally just asking for the toddler to fall out of it
Gayle Brown2 aylar önce
My son's crib converts into a toddler bed, daybed, and full size bed. We'll keep it well into his teens. He's in the toddler bed now and I love it. The only thing about this product are those mattresses. They seem proprietary and I prefer products where I can buy standard sizes from any brand to fit whatever I'm using. It's very cute and definitely a good idea though.

TrailerTrish2 aylar önce

Elena Wang2 aylar önce
Finding mattresses and fitted sheets for this crib would be crazy. You will be bound to buy any accessories from the company that made this crib.
Ruth Bolton2 aylar önce
Yes I was looking for this comment! Also that bed is already going to be super expensive before all the specialty bedding. With my kids, I used a crib that I reused for all three, then the toddler bed was the same size as the crib mattress, so same cheap sheets. And then straight to a twin bed. Easy.
J. Bailey2 aylar önce
I had a crib with a round mattress and found I could still put normal sheets over it. But I'm sure the company selling the bed tells you to only buy their sheets ;)
Long Live Bun Bo2 aylar önce
I can quilt my own bed sheet so that wouldn't be a problem, but yeah the bed is EXPENSIVEEE
Kierrah George2 aylar önce
I have the older version of this so it’s a little smaller but still a “standard cot” size and I use rectangular sheets on it fine, wish I didn’t bother getting boring round ones
Sheri S2 aylar önce
Exactly. Pretty sure those bigger mattresses and bottom pieces aren't going to come with the original packaging so you'd have to buy more as your child grows to accommodate them. In the end it would probably just be cheaper to stick to the normal to way- crib to toddler bed to big kid bed.

Tammyboo Grant2 aylar önce
Very fragile,a good jump.from.a 3yr break that whole bed
Evelina Åkesson2 aylar önce
Yeah I feel like 6 years tops would be the appropriate age limit because after that they’d weigh enough that the mattress will be uncomfortable to sleep on. Not to mention most 10 year olds, especially the girls, are way taller than that. And all this is just without mentioning how embarrassed a kid might be still having a baby cot for a bed when their friends come over.

dgmail10002 aylar önce
I already lost one of the support bars just watching this, and I don't even own the crib
sóley si2 aylar önce
i was thinking this, but what if you only buy the upgrade pieces when the time comes, as a package? rather than buying it all at once. e.g. the initial crib and mattress is, say £200, and the 6m crib additions are another £1-200, etc. my only doubt is, where would you put the pieces that are no longer needed? maybe you could trade them in to the company for a discounted price, but i'm not sure

FYI for the people who say 10yo is old. I think this crib would be great for children with certain disabilities and developmental conditions. I have put 12yo in things like this for my job 😊.

As a crib, it does not look stable enough, though the other uses are awesome.

That wood looks so thin. I know how I was as a kid and I definitely would have jumped on this full force.

I had one for my baby too. I only used this "roaring cage" to briefly hang up laundry in the laundry room or to take out the garbage, for a maximum of 3 minutes. My little one roared, was soaked in sweat and cried wet and even managed to pull himself up and throw up between the bars. He would never have played in there or even slept, never!

Any idea where can I get one?

As soon kids have their own taste and preference around 5-7 they will definitely ask you for a normal bed. Kids will want something like what their friends have. They get bored sleeping in the same cot for years.

I never got what I wanted as a kid because my family was poor. I slept in an old crib until I was too tall to fit, then I got a basic bed. My family always bought second hand stuff. I understood that it's not a big deal, I never asked for a different bed, I slept on the same bed for years. Until I was able to get a job and care for myself.

Yeah, but this seems useful for foster parents. Maybe it's more geared towards that

I still sleep with my parents in their bed. Yeah and i dont see anything weird about it. (Except my dad sleeps on the couch"

Honestly it seems more something poor families would get because they’d not be able to keep swapping furniture every few years. They would be able to just get one crib and adjust it as needed as time progresses until the kid can get a “grown up” bed and reuse the crib for any others.

as soon as he could walk, my nephew climbed over the fence like a crazy cat (my family didn't use a cot, we just bought a bed and then installed removable fences around it). 😂 In the end, we moved the futon down and let him sleep at floor-level.

Now all it needs is a roof and it'll be perfect for containing the small pet human.

This seems really cool and valuable even if not used up to 10 years. It’s already been discussed that many 10 year olds would not do well with this bed (At ten I was a big chunky kid and this bed woulda given me back problems) but i think it’s adorable for younger kids. The cutest part to me would be the three year olds excitement to get the final upgrade. My little brother was very happy when he got his big kid bed a few years ago and now he’s a big second grader and has a bigger mattress 🥹 so proud of him.

Keeping your kid in a pen after 4 seems a little more like punishment than luxury
