Watch Jordan Peterson's "Vision & Destiny" on DW+ bit.ly/3KrWbS8
Peterson draws upon his extensive research and relatable real-life experiences to illustrate how to develop attainable goals for intimate relationships, meaningful friendships, and your career. Transform the chaotic potential of the future into actuality - with a vision.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Michael Yon, and Eva Vlaardingerbroek discuss recent events encircling the Dutch farmers protest, how their anti-globalist movement mirrors the Canadian Freedom Convoy, and how their message has resonated across the world despite best efforts to silence their voices.
At age 19, Michael Yon completed Green Beret training. His Green Beret experience taught him the art of observing and surviving in the most dangerous environments on earth. Combining his skills as a writer and a photographer, and with the encouragement of fellow veterans, Michael began his correspondent career by traveling to Iraq in December of 2004. That was the first step in his nearly 20-year journey-traveling the globe to report on world events firsthand. He has traveled to more than 80 countries including China, India, Bhutan, and Vietnam studying issues from cannibalism, information warfare, insurgency, protests, migration wars, and more. His most recent journey has taken him from Asia to Europe, America, and Central and South America to study the conditions for global famine.
Eva Vlaardingerbroek is a Dutch political and cultural commentator and legal philosopher. She has been featured on Fox News, GB News, Tim Pool, 'Achtung, Reichelt' and many other media outlets across the world. She received her masters with honors from Leiden University in 2019 and after getting involved in Dutch politics, she's now made it her mission to be a conservative voice for freedom and justice in the Western world. Her motto in life and eponymously titled substack is 'Resit Much, Obey Little'

Except that this is always the case. Never before have things been more like they are now. Except that we've seen all this in bits and pieces before. Learn from history and don't repeat the actual errors. Anything less and we're doomed.

@Erroneous Oh that is def a bad thing, being completely self-sufficient. That would put a huge dent in the tax base. Dnt get confused that is what feminism has been hijacked into pushing, or they just believe the lies. If all women figured out it is much more fulfilling to have a family be your own boss, manage the household verses punching a time clock and working for someone. That would take away half the population that you are unable to tax.

you cannot compare Canada with the Netherlands, do you know what size it is comparing Canada. Here it is too full of such number of animals. 11 million pigs, 6 million cows 100.000.000 (!) million chicken, a lot of sheep and there shit. That is very bad for the nature. And 75% is for the export. (And there living 18 million people in NL).

yeah, no not really, the BBB has just used every farmers anger in the country as a marketing scheme. If you looked more into they're campaign you can see that they plan to build massive solar fields, double the windmills and much more. Where do you think those are able to be placed? Our country does not have that kind of land but famers do

As soon as I heard Eva at 43:58, I was reminded of this quote I had stored in my notes: "To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to family tradition, national patriotism, and religious dogmas.” - Dr George Brock Chisholm, first Director-General of the World Health Organisation 1948-1953

I lived in the Netherlands the Summer of 1991. I'm from a Dairy background and I spent time visiting many farms during that time. The tech was ahead of American tech at the time and I was certain the famers in the Netherlands would endure and be the envy of the world. It's a shame what can happen when the wrong people get in power and are not removed. I hope the Dutch can maintain their farming culture and identity. What happens in Europe typically works its way over in the USA and we end up with the same problems. The Leftwing Globalists in power in the Western nations must be removed before they destroy everything good.
Peter

The Netherlands is currently in the longest period of right wing government ever. Where did you get the idea that it would be left wing people in the Dutch government now?
Jordy van der Linden
Jordy van der Linden 2 aylar önce
As Peter said, the Netherlands has had a center-right wing government for a long time. The Dutch farming industry (particularly the billion-dollar feeding and fertilizer companies) have successfully lobbied that government to not act on environmental protection laws and agreements for decades. And now they're up in arms because a judge has concluded that the government must act (retroactively) to fix things. Nothing against honest-hard working farmers, of which there are plenty. But a big part of Dutch farming industry are multi-billion-dollar companies that benefited greatly from globalization.

In Amsterdam in 1989 I spoke with an elderly man, and I was commenting about how ‘accepting’ I found the Dutch in their behaviour towards all the drug tourists etc, I always remember his reply that, the Dutch didn’t accept, rather, they tolerated. I hope the Dutch stand together, if so, they would be a force to be reckoned with. An awesome interview thank you, from Adelaide Australia

As a young dutch man myself. I see this happening right in front of me, and it truly makes me sad to my bone. Especially with the breaking of dutch nationality and the forming of gangs. Close to where i live there are gangs forming of at least 20 to 40 big with starting ages of 14. They all go in the streats terrorize the people attack them for no reason in large groups carry knives. And in my own experience, the police does absolutely nothing. I got attacked, and all of them are still in the streets, and every time 1 spots me, they start a all out hunt for me. Police are always late, and then the case is dropped within 2 day. All of them are still out there on the streets. While i can't even walk safely there, and have to look at a scare under my eye, knowing that when it comes to it, i am on my own. And all that in my great home country.

I went to the Netherlands last year, and let me just say that this was one of the most agriculturally driven nations on earth. The country is tiny, yet a huge portion of it is farmland. The quality of produce there is unmatched, also. I can't believe they think there is a "nitrogen crisis." The environment there is maintained in superb condition. It's simple to see that the best way to infringe upon the liberties of the Dutch, would be by controling the agricultural output.

It isn't about being for or against the Dutch farmers. It is really a fight of the environment versus the rabobank & supermarkets. As a small scale farmer in central British Columbia, Canada, l feel for these people. My family has farmed as far back as we can find in our history, and to think that governments, including our own here in Canada, will attempt to control us, to stop us, is beyond unfathomable. Wait, wait, wait, let me get this straight: Ukraine and Russia were some of the massive producers of food in Europe. They are now at war and cannot not produce food like that anymore. They were declaring the possibility of food shortages as a result of that. The Dutch farmers are so productive, they are creating a surplus of food for their country and are exporting it to their neighbors. The Dutch government's bright idea in response is: "We need to half the number of farmers and food producers. This is a perfect plan that will lead to no future problems in the future."

Thanks again, Jordan, for initiating a deeply troubling discussion, that our politicians should be having, regarding the direction and future of the citizens of their various countries. One immediate thought is the catastrophic marginalization of religious observance as a moral force for good, which includes the family and that moral basket called family values. My second thought is to question the criteria required for leadership. Does the prospective political leader, or any leader for that matter, walk the walk, or merely talk the talk. Today, we have a modern version of Oscar Wilde's play, The Mask of Dorian Gray, where an individual is able to masquerade behind a public persona, successfully hiding a venal character. Our leaders need more objective scrutiny. But we, the citizens, also require, as you so eloquently say, have to clean up our rooms. How can we expect better behaviour from others if, as individuals and as a society, we do not hold ourselves to a higher standard?

Really liked watching this interview. Partly because I am living in The Netherlands myself. The warning for the left going too far is clear and I appreciate the warning from Dr. Peterson on that. I also like very much the efforts Dr. Peterson takes in understanding the specifics of the Dutch case and trying to get evidence for claims being made. One issue I sametimes have is when there is too much reference to "they", because who are "they". It is true that some people advocate for the tri-state city. It is also true that the Dutch government (and pushed by EU) is putting pressure on the farmers through the nitrogen topic. However, the claim that there is some sort of conscience relation between the two is not really supported in the interview. And I also doubt if it is actually the case. My gutfeel is that they both have a common cause: a very leftist minded ideaology (which may not be a 100% acurate defenition). Farmers have to go because the are bad for nature cause science says so is the opinion many people have. And better connected cities are good for the environment as it is more efficient and less cars are needed etc etc. I have similar thoughts about the immigration topic: I do not think there is a conscience agenda to diminish Dutch identity, it will be the consequence of current policies though.

My Dutch father, a Graphic Designer in Amsterdam who was absolutely a social liberal, told me not long before he died and with profound concern, that the non-assimilation character of the more recent waves of immigrants into the Netherlands was going to completely obliterate our Western civilization (previous immigrants assimilated into and enriched the Dutch culture). This tri-city talk is absolutely horrifying. Dank je Eva and thank you Michael for the work that you do and thank you Jordan for giving them this platform.

If you go to Flora Holland where they wash the pots , it's immigrants , if you go to warehouses , it's immigrants, kitchens , also lots of immigrants, I've had a lot of low payed jobs , it was always 9 immigrants one dutch , then you wonder why they don't get assimilated , because they are being segregated, all uitsendbureaus work with immigrants, who's running the uitsendbureaus ? Dutch , I had to struggle, for 12 years before I got an office job now I finally learn Dutch because I work with Dutch , the first waves of immigrants where easier to absorb because they were few and you were lots , but that's not the case anymore , there's more foreigners in Ams than locals

For anyone who wants to know, the BBB (Farm,Citizen,Movement; Dutch - Boer,Burger,Beweging) party crushed in a landslide for the provincial elections this year - being the mayor party in all 12 provinces in the Netherlands. If the current government continues on this path, polls estimate that the BBB will jump from 1 seat (this year) to 38 seats (next election) out of 150 total.

Utmost respect and support for the Dutch farmers. Their Governments treatment of such a vital group of citizens is disgraceful. I have enjoyed numerous holidays in Holland, my father fought in Holland circa 1944/45 living with a Dutch family over the Christmas of 1945. He never forgot the kindness he was given at a desperately dangerous time of his life. Farmers of Nederland keep strong 🇬🇧🇳🇱🇬🇧

They agricultural sector contributes 1.5% or so to the Dutch economy. 80% of their products are exported. They receive massive subsidies (more than 800 million euros per year). Meanwhile, they hold half of the land in the already highly densely populated country. If you enjoy the Netherlands, you’d want a sustainable solution, not a polluted monoculture.

JP is usually very good at organising thoughts and ideas and directing focus in order to present issues in a way that is relatively easy for people to follow but it seems that achieving that with Michael is like trying to herd chickens. JP said he still wasn't clear about the purpose and function of the tri-state city, I'm not sure he is any clearer now, I'm certainly not. Unfortunately although it is possible to glean some useful information from Michael, it is very difficult to get the information you want when you want it. Michael speaks a lot without adding new information to what he has already shared; heard much more about Nitrogen than about tri-state city in his answer about tri-state city.

As a Dutchman I do support our farmers cause ❤ However: These two people appear to be posessed by a conspiracy theory. Critical questions from JBP's side are not addressed properly, to the point he needs to repeat his questions. I strongly feel that they are looking to preach their narrative, rather than aiming for the truth.

In Denmark is the same narrative going on about keeping nature at some arbitrarily defined "natural" state of existence. The program goes under the name "Rewilding". Also new tax law changes make it substantially more expensive to own small farmsteads.

Very interesting. Thank you. I think the West is going the way of the Roman Empire. It has become just too decadent and stupid. In this age we have it better than any previous generation and yet so many are trying to destroy that basically because they don't know hardship. I have tremendous respect for my mother because when I was young my mother did the washing in a copper where she had to start a fire underneath it and then with two concrete tubs with a mangle between them rinse them. Half the males today need to have their balls go through a mangle. The fridge was a bricked up hole underneath a laurel hedge and she cooked on a Shacklock coal range. The bread was beautiful as well as the roast muttons. Light came from a Tilley lantern above the kitchen table. A very generous woman gave my mother an electric sewing machine. There was only one problem. No power. For some reason her first job of the day was scrubbing the Kauri doorstep. She was very chuffed when she bought her last house and she never had to do it again I never heard her complain ONCE.

Ik ben Nederlands. I am dutch but left Holland in 1981 and moved to the UK. I am so glad I do not live in Holland anymore as I could not possibly have kept my mouth shut on what has happened to my Country. when I left in 1981 (ish), we just started to get some people to encourage immigrants to enter Holland, even though they had NO IDEA where they were from and what they believed in. I know the UK has been following the similar sort of trend since but Holland, being only a small country, could not possibly accommodate all these foreigners with their own ways and customs without seriously changing the fabric of the country

I am a German farmer and I am grateful that you put up this topic. Sadly the politicians in Europe went so far with their illusions of how agriculture should work, that I am more and more convinced, that it will get far worse. More people will starve, food shortages will develop and farmers will still earn less and less. But (I hope) at some point, when the wealth of our continent fades and people start to care about how not to starve, things will rearrange to the better. But as i said: first, it will get worse. (It's desert ahead!)

I’m am American farmer, and I just went to a course for the FDA certification to grow and harvest produce. It was so absurd that an hour in, I thought that there has to be another agenda. There is: we have to list everything that we grow; how it’s irrigated; harvested and packaged. In other words, they know IN DETAIL everything produced on this farm should a national crisis develop and they want to cease it. And as In Holland, now the program is “voluntary”, but that’s ending soon enough.

I would like to see you explore movements such as Monero, TOR and I2P! They might seem to be in a technical niche but in reality they are the only tools individuals have against things like a social credit system. Maybe you could talk with prominent figures in the space? The TOR foundation has people who I think would love to talk. Same for someone like Andreas Antonopoulos. These people are very motivated by their personal beliefs and have a tremendous ability to break down complex technologies into simple explainations!

I am Dutch myself and I can say with great joy that a change is taking place. The BBB (Boeren Burger Beweging, the political party of the farmers) has won a majority of the seats in the 1st chamber and the water boards. Most of our citizens are fed up with our government's bullshit and want the current left-wing elites to be dethroned. This is the first step towards a possible major political change.

Same thing is happening in Ireland. The farming community are coming under increasing levels of regulation, a push for organics which at a time of global food shortages, tougher nitrates derogations for the most efficient of farmers and its increasingly more difficult to get permission to build your own house in the countryside. The family farm is being eroded. Generations of national identity, knowledge and localism is being eroded. Once the family farm model disappears the countryside will be mere tourist destinations and rewilded areas. Farmers will be sacrificed and thus the rural economy forcing them into cities where its easier to control people. Food production will be outsourced to BRIC country's or worse. Itl be nearly a sin to eat a steak. frightening stuff. More than likely i will be the last generation of farmers on our land which span a century at this stage. These topics are being discussed in Ireland here also. New movements are in the pipeline. Fair play to Eva. As a 40 yr old male we need the young to stand up to this nonsense for our childrens sake.
