It's so tragic, but agreed. Saw their story with cbs, the invited journalist sounded stunned by the game controller, but the CEO almost had a sense of pride that they were using less sophisticated tools. Almost like a mindset of "they said it couldn't be done but we're doing it", seems like a terrible way to approach such a dangerous field. This sub seemed far safer- even it's size for one person in comparison to 5

It's sad what happened to the Titan but it shows that you can have money to fulfil your dreams like he does, but It's important to have good judgment and good preparation for something so crazy. There's still so much down there that we don't know about and watching this video is almost like watching a moon landing. In the beginning of the video at 0:05 we can see the small pressurised sphere compared to the rest of the sub. A superb and secure machine that exposes how cheap and flawed was the Titan submersible. The Alvin submersile is also a piece of ever evolving hardware that has completed more than 5000 deep dive missions since its creation in late 60's. A well understood and secure industry that will suffer from those big mistakes.

Out of curiosity i searched the earth crust thickness. At 40 km average, the trench cuts it at 25% or so of its layer, its somehow both a lot and little. And overall should reminds us than our planet still is far bigger than us, we're just ants crawling on a giant ball that will likely survive us to give room for other lifeforms, once we're done shooting ourselves in the foot

This is heartwarming to watch. God's nature may not do much of harm only if you approach it with caution.

I can’t even imagine to get all the way down there. Ohh 😅my goodness! There is only way I can get there through dreaming like I was there through imagination. 😂
