@murdoc750 the root of the problem needs to be fixed. Not adding more guns, but completely stopping production of all firearms, minus military use. And better yet, take every gun off the shelves. That’s already produced. Then when we get results, we can talk about allowing guns in the hands of citizens again.

I’m glad this kid spoke up. I’m so sick of this “he was bullied” narrative. It can’t be true for every single school shooter. Some of them are bullies themselves or are just bad people. It’s so disrespectful to the children who were horrifically killed to try and justify why someone would do something like this. There is zero justification.

Finally someone who sees his actions as what they were: evil. Bullying has nothing to do with it. I was bullied HORRIBLY in school and developed PTSD that I still struggle with. I’d never even think of doing something like this. All that narrative does is punish children who struggle with mental health issues, not the people who are actually, truly evil.

Same here man, I lived in a very troubled neighbourhood and I was constantly bullied for eight years, I still have nightmares about those days and my mental health was forever scarred by my bullies' actions. But never, EVER, have I thought of hurting people like this.
ditto3ful 2 aylar önce
I’m glad the kid finally said how it usually is. I’m tired of the “he was bullied” or “he was a loner” narrative. Almost every kid I knew who was bullied or a loner, like myself, never wanted to hurt anyone or anything. Instead they tended to take it heart and hurt themself in some way. It’s been said that he Columbine shooters weren’t bullied, but instead the bullies. I wouldn’t be surprised by this, being that most people i knew who were bullies tended to be psychopathic and do some horrible things i.e. become a sadistic cop, one worked as a parole officer who did some uncouth things. The bully of my dad’s high school murdered his girlfriend’s child.

I can feel the frustration is his voice. We as high schoolers are sick of people dismissing scary behaviors like this to the point where the people we are afraid of and the people we are reporting actually end up committing the horrible crimes we have been foreseeing. When we say we are scared or feel threatened, all we ask is the perpetrator be investigated for safety concerns.

@acordilia And that younger girl smiled oddly in all her photos. Did you notice that? Like a joker half smile, ugh, all those people seem disturbed. To me it looks like some kind of bad Karma going around in that circle.... Today I saw from a news source, the official report of the crime, how the cops responded, etc. On the analysis of Ramos, it was confirmed by his former uvaldi Elementary school teacher that he claimed to be bullied as a kid. And it has been confirmed the classroom he walked in on was indeed his former fourth grade classroom! What does that tell us? I'm inclined to believe this guy was one of the people who bullied him. Ramos didnt target his bullies, he targeted the family members of his bullies.

@Flaka Pachina to be fair, the law requires you to not slow down and stop to avoid hitting an animal unless it's 100% safe to do so for you and the drivers behind or around you (in Canada at least). And there's not much you can do after you hit it, there's a small chance it's still alive after getting hit by a car if it's just a small animal. You're right that it would be nice if people would stop and see if it's okay after but that's not always an option. And I wouldn't equate that to intentionally going and hurting/torturing animals like a sociopath would. Even hunting I wouldn't equate it to because hunting is done for the sake of food and is done quickly so the animal isn't in pain for long. Though I don't agree with hunting even considering that and wouldn't personally do it The difference is that a sociopath hurts animals in ORDER to cause it pain, whereas the other situations I described were never in order to cause animals pain

I'm starting to believe that he specifically picked an elementary school, instead of a middle school or highschool, simply because he knew small children wouldn't be able to fight back like the older ones. And he could enjoy hurting them with little to no resistance.
Tlynn 2 aylar önce
Listening to the interview with this young man and hearing him say "he wasnt bullied, he bullied others and got aggravated if he couldn't" and thinking about the interview with the 9 year old who was in the room with the shooter mention "He walked in, crouched down and said "it's time to die" shows that he enjoyed being a bully and wanted others to fear him. He got off on causing pain..both physical and mental. This may be one of the reasons he picked the elementary school versus a high school or other public place. They were the most vulnerable and he could have full control with no resistance.

@HelloSana Those earlier guys just proved yang paan right in the end. Some guys and girls lacking further insight into him are still talking about Ramos during high school after he was messed up. But not in his much earlier years where he was possibly bullied. The bullied can get corrupted and become the bully. No one in this life is born evil, it's always been chosen, even with a disturbed mind. I'm someone who faced similar odds as Ramos, but I was fortunate and had proper support. Ramos wasn't as fortunate and found more violent methods that he couldn't realize and internalized what he was getting into and the consequences for indulging in such behavior. What the others just displayed is partly the reason why we keep getting these troubled teenaged menaces. It always starts with struggling kids being bullied over nonsense, said nonsense that kids get gaslighted and messed with and their minds aren't used to such lambasting criticism. It changes them, and without some positive support, they can fall into a dark place. No one becomes "weird" just like that. There's always a reason.
HelloSana 23 gün önce
@yang paan Yikes. I don't understand how people couldn't understand what you're saying. Reading and comprehension are not people's strong suit these days. I understand exactly what you're talking about as I dive into sociology and psychology with cases to understand where the person was at mentally. It's one of the reasons things like this will still happen because people aren't trying to get to the core of some of these issues.
Vanessa 25 gün önce
@yang paan I think out of all of these people you are the only one who has looked into this with more insight. Its a shame, and the reason why these events will continue is because of people, like the people on this thread.. society is so dumbeddown.

A psychopath is one from their first breath til their last. Bad parents could feasibly make them worse, but even the best parents can't make them better. Psychos have much of their frontal lobe either not there, damaged, or just grey matter present that doesn't fire neurons. Its not a learned behavioral problem or choice. It's a physiological problem that can manifest in bad behavior.

He posted videos of himself holding up dead cats that he killed! How in the world was this overlooked?! He was also known to threaten girls, saying that he will sexually assault them. It seems that he had very poor parenting as well. There were so many red flags that should have tipped people off. This wasn't some random, "out of the blue" occurence, everything he did was leading up to this and people ignored the signs.

@John Doe Exactly this, today I decided to look up this interview again. I first saw it last month and I immediately thought, nah this guy isnt what he claims to be. Well, today I read the official crime report they released and in it, it claims the classroom the shooter targeted and walked in on was his former fourth grade classroom. The shooters former uvalde Elementary teacher testified that he claimed that he was bullied. This guy on video, I can almost be certain to say that he was one of his former bullies. Who knows really what the truth is, but I surely dont believe this guy. Even someone said, the shooter had a lisp which made him stand out to his peers. How desensitized the youth is nowadays, I dont believe for one second that he wasnt teased for his speech impediment.

There a difference between understanding the reason behind a behavior and justifying (sympathizing with ) it, people always have a reason for what they do, let it be a traumatic event, a mental illness, drug use, and will often feel in the right. I leave in Europe, i just learned that kids in the US are told not to defend themselves from bullies, that is sick, i can only imagine how much hate and rage those kids builds up through the years, defendless and betrayed by their parents and teacher they one day decide to end everything with a big nonsensical act of violence.

My condolences to the family for their children. I also cry for your loss. I’m deeply saddened and left with questions unanswered. My prayers have been with you every sense this tragedy occurred. Eventually, the hard work of “dealing with” this problem has to be done. Hopefully sooner than later. I work in mental health as a psychiatric NP and several questions that I don’t understand come to mind: How come he was allowed one hour? Who purchased the weapons for him? How did he fly under the radar at his high school with not being questioned about his peculiar actions, writings in his homework? Did he have a guidance counselor? Get all who knew him and build a profile, as this type of person, is unfortunately becoming all too “common” in America. Also, some folks or what seems to be - teen males, will see this person as a hero. Begin the hard work of sabotaging their efforts. A teen should never be able to purchase a firearm or have a firearm purchased for them. This should be a felony, at the most, and/or cause for community service at the very least to do work in communities of the underserved, so the perpetrator(s), see the people who live in this community as persons such as themselves. The legal age should be increased to 24 or 26 years of age. This places the person above school and college age, to make our schools safe. He had a dilemma with school. Most of these killings with these persons had to do with school or negative home environments. The problems:Being bullied, Single parent home, abuse physical, emotional, not enough nurturing from either parent to understand compassion for others, no “red flags” from schools to pull child aside and probe the actions, no mental health profile established, no medications prescribed to help with this type of behavior. I can go on but me writing this is not solving problems. The “deciders” must put action to their speeches. No one up to the age of when executive function is present should be allowed to have access to a firearm. I pray for us and wonder how much longer people who are in positions of leadership, will do what they know is the right thing.

So glad this kid told it like it is! The shooter would have had a criminal record and been unable to purchase guns if the system would not constantly overlook what they believe are “low level offenses”. Killing animals for fun, shooting people with BB guns out the car window, and instigating fights are violent crimes, and very indicative of future violence. He kept getting a free pass for his actions, so he kept progressing to more violent deeds.

Major props to the senior being dead honest about the event that happened and clearing up the harsh reality of who this guy really is. It should've been a red flag for teachers at the High School to notice this kid not only tried to bully others, but also started harming animals. If anyone is into crime and criminal profiling, I think majority can agree harming animals is the first step to building a potential serial killer or killer in general if not prevented sooner. It's heartbreaking to see the families accounts of how much this tragedy hurt them, but also makes me infuriated that there are so many unanswered questions due to Ramos being dead.

It’s learned behavior. Or lack of something like proper nurturing. And this is just one side of the story from one kid. It’s not the full story. You can’t make a full conclusion based on one person’s opinion of what they witnessed or might have heard. You have to gather ALL THE FACTS from all areas. Leave no stone unturned.

I’ve never met a bullied person that was mean or turn crazy most just want peace. However, I know quite a few bullies that turn violent when their intimidation no longer works. Bully + Coward= Salvador Ramos

@ditto3ful there needs to be some type of program in Uvalde. Perhaps an organization that has dealt with these issues. If anyone wants to spend money on anything it would have this type of program. Probably wouldn't costs as building more high tech security or barbed wire fence with towers in each corner of the school with m60s mounted in each tower

The bully in my junior high went on a killing spree later on. I also worked with kids later on in my life, the number of bullies that i encountered that thought they were being bullied was amazing. One kid used to always poke the boy beside him. Seats were changed, he’d still find away to poke this kid, be it standing in line or passing in the hall. When the poked kid had enough, the bully cried that he was the victim. So he’d find away to “get even”. He did this to numerous kids, but the poking stands out the most. His parents were always called and they always gave excuses.

I was bullied but weight lifted later there nothing more satisfying than smacking around the bullies

Finally, content about the only person who actually committed these atrocities! Not the police, laws, guns, current politicians, past politicians, etc. just an evil human being, doing evil things. Props to the kid in the video spreading the truth! May future generations associate the name Salvador Ramos with the absolute worst of them and do everything to distance themselves from being anything like him.

You can report it, but nothing serious will happen to stop the person from commuting a crime like Salvador did if they really want to do it. You can’t send someone to prison just because you think they might do a mass shooting one day. You have to wait until they actually do before you can charge him with a crime. Sad truth most people don’t want to hear.

It’s not harming or killing animals it’s torturing animals and enjoying their pain is what is a tell tale sign. Hugh Heffner the playboy was a torturer too.

I am reminded of a Ted talk I saw a man describing how his life was when he was almost a school shooter. His point was that we need to show love and little acts of kindness to the people who seem like they deserve it the least. Although this kid was not a bully at school, he obviously had a rough enough life that he felt the need to do this. In order to prevent this, we need to show love and kindness to the people that we think deserve the very least. The scary and weird kids at school… we need to show them love.

I think the parents should be held accountable. They had 18 years to deal with the problem, so they are at the very least part of the problem.

To those of you who say this kid was the bully simply because he was smiling: that's not much of a smile. It looks like an awkward smile if that. Imagine yourself in his shoes. There's no proper way to react and talk about a tragedy like this. Stop pointing fingers without any evidence.

If you know someone who hurts animals, stay away from them or report them, believe me that could avoid a few things. He was a high level sociopath, exploring by killing helpless beings, an extreme bullyman, like a monster on planet literally.

Bully or not bullied at any point of this coward's life, we should hold bullies accountable if they ever cause so much distraught and sadness with frustration. Nothing will ever justify such an ultimate act of cowardice, but be sure their creators must be punish for making a monster.

I'm glad he is giving everyone better insight into who this kid was. Because it's not always the bullied, broken home kid that pulls something like this, quite often people who do things like this are just bullies and jerks on an extreme level. The hurting of animals alone should have kept this kid from buying a firearm, that's one major clear sign they have no regard for others well being.

With these mass shootings I think there are two things to be learned for the most part. 1)guns are the problem. And 2) we should make an effort to report bullying and have a pleasant society in schools that makes everybody feel included and loved. Sadly no one sees these as problems so these shootings will just keep happening and everyone will be shocked and outraged again.
