Just to give you a heads up, the doors could not be locked from the inside of the classroom, only way to lock it is on the outside of the door. Also the door he walking into was never able to lock because the door bolt was drilled wrong and would not engage. A complaint was made about this weeks ago but never addressed.

I would love to see a poll taken by first responders showing how many would stand down given the order knowing their children and wives were present in the classroom with them being a hallway distance away, the reaction is not normal. Anyone I know would run through a fucking wall to protect their children, and I have no military and or law enforcement background, and I'm not posturing. One of my sole duties as a parent is to protect my children. The sole responsibility of law enforcement is to protect and serve the public, I dont give two shits about an officers safety when something like this happens.

"Everyone wants to be an operator till it's time to do operator shit." I know it is an old line, but this one really hits. Looking back on this from a year later, I can confidently say that the failures at Uvalde have had an impact on American policing. Just a few days ago a lone officer who just happened to be in the vicinity of an active shooter in Allen, TX took down someone on his own who was much more prepared and trained than the kid in Uvalde. He ran towards the sounds of gunfire alone and stopped the threat less than 4 minutes after the shooting began while at every disadvantage because he wasn't a coward and he used speed, surprise and violence of action. If you aren't willing to give your life in the service of saving the lives of children, I don't know what else could possibly motivate you. It's unnatural, inhuman.

100%. I worked for a large municipal fire dept. for 25 years, and NOT ONCE did I see or hear a colleague suggest that we do nothing or that someone else has to do something “for our safety”. I thought I was going to die a couple times; and I’m not brave or noble, but they say “courage is the fear of being thought a coward”. In other words, you don’t back down in front of your buddies, and you put life and property at risk when you don’t act. They train you to act. Every fireman and every cop should know that you earn your twenty years of pay in a few hours over a couple days. You know that a day will come when you will be expected to put yourself in harm’s way. This is why you get paid fairly well. We had division level training with the cops for school shooter scenarios, and the absolute name of the game in those situations is to locate and neutralize the shooter as fast as possible, PERIOD. They always tell you in training that you want to go home in one piece, but it isn’t the absolute focused goal of everything you do. It’s a component of risk assessment. Some fires are not going to be interior attacks, they are going to be surround-and-drown, but NO fire is a sit-there-and-do-nothing. These chickenshit cops, sitting there in the hallway with their training and riot shields and body-armor bristling with weapons and doing NOTHING for an hour and a half should ALL be fired. Retirements yanked. FUCK each and every one of these cowards. Cops these days are forever whining about “my safety”, taking eighty year old women to the ground, violating rights, handcuffing people with no reasonable suspicion, pulling weapons on people with their hands in their pockets, bullying everyone they meet “for my safety”. You know what, Officer? FUCK your safety. You want to be safe? Go sell insurance.

This situation broke my heart. I was in law enforcement for over 30 years. The one thing I encountered was that the officers and I worked and trained many were disinterested in training and weren't prepared to go to training that they had to pay for whether it was physical training, (weight lifting) extra shootingtraining, martial arts training ect. This was a disgusting situation. Lack of training is not an excuse if you want to do the job then it's your responsibility to be prepared.

For the two folks commenting asking why, clearly you have never served in the military or any other job in which you have a DUTY to engage. If you sign on the dotted line, your ass no longer has a say. You do your damn job because if you don't, other people die. You sign up to be a cop, you get the training necessary and get your ass to work. Afterwards, you can challenge or ask why they don't pay for your training etc. Situations like this make it easy to justify training. This is Walmart were you don't get paid a lot so why bother going and learning the individual vegetable numbers. Plenty of these types of people join the military too. They want the ability to brag about being in the military, discounts and everything, but when the rounds start flying they want out.

When the parents were crying ask asking why they’re not inside saving the children they were telling them that it’s because they’re too busy having to babysit these adults. 🤦🏼‍♀️ some parents were detained for LITERALLY TRYING TO DO THE COP’S JOBS since they weren’t doing it. One mother in particular LITERALLY RAN INTO THE SCHOOL AND SAVED A BUNCH OF CHILDREN BY SAFELY LEADING THEM OUT OF THE SCHOOL TO SAFETY. and for being THE ONLY TRUE HERO she was then HANDCUFFED AND ARRESTED FOR IT. 🤯🤯🤯

I heard the Chief showed up with no radio. WTF. I viewed the hearings on this. It pisses me off. It's incompetence at the highest level. I agree, Officers should be f**king fired for this. The only one officer who was down the hallway who tried and the others who stood back were cowards. The Chief f**ked up calling off entry and asked for a sniper and "keys". Keys to f**king what? The doors were unlocked. The fricken Chief was calling 911 on his cell phone, didn't commandeer a radio off another Officer. He called off any entry. What the f**k. They did nothing. There is zero excuse. This bothers me until this day. It's cowardice. And I read during the investigation, there was several swat officers on scene and they did nothing. You, an expert with all the information and experience, have changed my perspective on this entire event. Having only gleaned info from the media coverage I had the impression that the officers had done the right thing but there MIGHT have been some systemic issues with the training and response. The mainstream media isn't just untrustworthy. It's actually become counter-trustworthy, meaning that I'm going to have to assume they are twisting the facts of TRAGEDIES like this to serve their own ends. I have nothing but the utmost respect and genuine heartfelt gratitude for you and everyone like you. I'm just a truck driver with zero training, but as a father of an elementary school age daughter, I KNOW I'd smash through any barrier and smoke that POS as quickly as possible. I pray I never have to prove that, but I can't even IMAGINE standing down the hall picking my ass while kids are getting shot and fighting for their lives. Imagine what those kids are thinking..."My friends are dying! My teachers are dying! The police are here...why don't they come save us!?" ASTOUNDINGLY SHAMEFUL performance. There was an incident earlier that month with a homicide near my daughters elementary school. I will never forget speaking to my battalion chief after the course. I looked into all four of their faces and said, “if I get a call, or whatever, and it is at my kids school, please know that I will take that 11 ton ambulance, drive it into where it needs to go, and do what I need to do, KNOWING OUR SWAT TEAM IS GOING TO BE DRIVING RIGHT UP MY ASS AND HANDLING OUR BUSINESS.” Our cops and swat aren’t pussies. Yeah Mike has it all figured out with his tight shirt and tattoos, but did he mention that children don't go to school to be killed by law enforcement officers or teenaged mentally ill gunmen with assult rifles. They go to school to learn. This should have been handled at the congress, school security, regulations and policy level. Meaning the potential active shooter in the school should have been a number 1 priority. Schools are supposed to be safe before the gunmen enter the school, not after. Mike's pride and machismo won't allow him to see basic logic. I am appreciative the active shooter/ tough cop scenario etiquette, but the children are dead and in so many active shooter instances it's the not the response time but the lack of security and safety. Mike's blowing smoke up his own ass and doesn't even realize it. The answer is finding a root cause and taking action, but this has to be done before the attack not after, and citizens must be involved.

@@gordsruby5963 I think you're missing the point here. This isn't trying to solve the entire societal problem. I feel like there's a societal issue with this abhorrent situation as well. From day one I've been saying that law enforcement, at the very least front line officers, need some sort of basic combat or tactics training. Found your channel recently watching your CQB video so I know I'm late commenting on this. Amazing job walking us through the time-line of this tragedy. You're completely right that there are a multitude of factors contributing to why these horrible situations keep happening. Thank you for highlighting the mental illness aspect and the cowardice of these officers. However, I have to disagree with "defending the police" being a factor here. For one, for most of the country it's not really happening, we are spending more on law enforcement now than 2-3 years ago. Secondly, this is in Texas not some liberal state or city, there's no chance Texas is defunding l.e. Maybe they should have in Uvalde though and not purchased all that tactical gear or those rifles since they don't want to use them anyway!

Yeah bro. The police response on this one bothers me as much as the rampage killer. 400 officers and it still took them well over an hour to do anything at all while people were suffering. The worst part is that the officers aren't even being honest. None of them came out and said "yeah maybe we screwed up in this one" there was police agencies across the nation frantically telling their men not to stand around and to go in and shoot the killer even if they die trying. When other police jurisdictions are using your jurisdiction as an example of what not to do, by that time its time to start being honest and admitting 1 hour and 40 minutes to take out an untrained killer while they're geared up for war and standing around doing nothing, that's not right.

Oh wow. I was like something upset this man then he starts talking about a shooting in a school. He went through everything in chronological order and clearly pointed out the incompetent law enforcement officers and other higher officials. I was wondering watching the video why everyone was standing away from the shooting and not going towards it. I do have law enforcement in my family and I've always seen them go towards the the danger to neutralize it immediately. You did an excellent job pointing all these facts out and I could understand why you were upset. It was hard to watch but the video shows that something needs to be done to make sure these officers are trained to do the job and are not just showing up hoping it's a good day. Not to mention the decision to pull back when you are trained to stop the threat. It could have ended in just 3 to 5 minutes. Many opportunities were missed. Those children could have possibly been saved if things turned out differently. So many mistakes were made in this tragic outcome. I was not familiar with this case, I just came across this video on TRshow. It got my attention because you were hammering away at this and now I know why. God bless you for speaking up.

Yes agreed, Mike's words were beautiful, but also untrue. As citizens it is our duty to fight against terror. We saw it during the 911 attacks when citizens joined our military services to protect and defend this country. Children don't go to school to be accidently killed by "tasked, shy" police officers or mentally ill teenagers with assult rifles. They go to school to learn. This should have been stopped somewhere between congress, school security, safety regulations and policy level. There's absolutely 100% zero proof or evidence to suggest, or entertain the idea that had police officers stormed the classroom children would have survived. Adding Law enforcement officers are also not required by law to protect citizens when they may be in danger, ruled by the Supreme Court. To include law enforcement officers have full authority to block, hold or caution off a crime scene/ homicide investigation. Now I have provided you with real, hard cold facts. Mike would know this if he could only set his pride aside. See pride blinds us, so that we don't see the truth in front of us. The killer, is responsible and accountable for any and all deaths or injuries as a result of his actions and his decisions. Now the ball is in Mike's hands now, he has to make a decision of his own... he can't trust law enforcement officers, so now what's Mike going to do? Lol I'll tell you exactly what Mike's going to do. The same thing he did with the Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland Massacres and all the others. Not a damn thing. Just complain on youtube. God bless.
@gordsruby5963
@gordsruby5963 9 aylar önce
Yes... it's also hard to hear the truth, while children were being slaughtered citizens sat in their recliners, waiting for cops to make miracles. As citizens of our communities it is our duty and obligation to ensure that children are safe to attend their schools before the massacre not after. As citizens of our communities we've had the warning signs. The news media has provided us with plenty of information on all the past and recent school shootings, such as Columbine, Sandy Hook and the Parkland Massacres just to name a few. Yet citizens ignored the warning signs. Children have practiced numerous active shooter scenarios and drill and yet again citizens ignored the call. The fact and truth is, children don't go to school to be accidently killed by armed police officers. They go to school to learn. The last hard cold fact and truth is the Robb Elementary Massacre took place almost a year ago and youtube viewers are making youtube comments and passing it of as their due diligence. You waited and counting on cops, you thought wrong! This country wasn't built by sitting in our recliner chairs, and wars weren't fought by making youtube comments on a keyboard. It takes citizens to get involved. If I'm wrong please explain why it was ok for citizens to join our military services after the 911 attacks. Yet it's not ok to help children who are targeted by gunmen because that's not what you signed up for. "ASK NOT WHAT YOUR COUNTRY CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY" John F Kennedy.

Our priorities are reverse from LEO, scene safety/my life/my partner's life, then my PT. For all I know (as and EMS responder), the shooter has a bunch of explosives in that classroom and I am NOT safe in that hallway. Hell, I'm not safe in the building. Thank you! I don’t think anywhere has really been defunded by “leftists.” I think Mike’s anger is 100% on point but also found that to be a pretty weak argument. Maybe they can stop buying MRAPs and Bearcats and actually focus on training…

Police nowadays have every asset at their disposal. Training or equipment are not the issue modern policing emphasises arrest numbers, drug busts and revenue raising through tickets and misdemeanor arrests. The time of police being people that are looked up to has come and gone now cops are just government employees that consider the well being of citizens last if at all. The police of my father's day and age are gone, the police of my generation are focused on the war on drugs and creating revenue not civil service or protecting Constitutional Rights. That's the reason public trust in the police is at the lowest it's ever been since polling on this issue began over 25 years ago.

So freaking pumped!!!! I’ve been saying this since Sandyhook! The cop that stayed out in the car? I have been so frustrated with the cowardice of cops in today’s society. I didn’t put together that it could be training giving them the feeling of fear & uncertainty that’s taking away their confidence and ‘muscle memory’! 😮 Thanks for clearing that up. I noticed right away that the 1st one in was the ONLY ONE willing to do their job!? (I’ve known several cops that only become one “to get a bunch of girls” (no confidence?), “to pump up their ego” (this guy was a true, in every sense of the word was a stalker, abusive to his gf), or was a bully to only those weaker and he thrived as a bad cop due to authority in our extremely corrupt area which is what he craved…power, authority, someone that COULDN’T say no to him or was picked on in school & wanted the authority, power, & social status to make him feel good about himself. (To myself, I think whatever career you choose should not MAKE you but compliment you.) Thanks so much for doing this! There are boys/men out there like my own 2 boys 23yo & 19yo and widowed at middle age, so I appreciate what you do to help guide young men. (Black Rifle Company coffee is GOOD, huh?)😁

It was REASSURING to see that Nashville responders got it right...Hope Uvalde PD was taking notes after their fiasco...Doesn't make it right that basically a kid was shooting up even younger kids, but as difficult as it was for those Nashville responders, they got it right for the sake of those kids and adults they protected....Hope you get a chance to talk about it and lend your expertise...Prayers for all those that were lost.

All I can say is, 100% accurate and on point assessment of the ridiculous circus which unfolded. This video needs to become more viral than any of the pointless videos which do nothing more than distract from the crucial reality of the ongoing crisis situation in US. Everything else needs to be put on hold so that the key steps be implemented seriously RIGHT NOW!!!

You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. I became a Volunteer Deputy town Marshall in Florence, Arizona in 1971 and what you are talking about was the FIRST LESSON that I learned. The Deputy that I was riding with told me that we were doing a Felony Stop and he told me to get the Shotgun and cover him. I did but didn't put the Shotgun on the SUBJECT. The Deputy told me to put the Shotgun on his head and if he made any kind of Aggressive Move to SHOOT HIM. And I would have. !!! 1971 and I was a VOLUNTEER. !!!
