First exhibited as a prototype at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971, the distinctive contemporary lines of the Lamborghini Countach, shaped the design of all subsequent Lamborghinis even up to today’s models, including the Aventador, Huracán, Sián, as well as the Urus.
With its bold design incorporating vertically opening doors “scissor doors” and distinctively detail, the Countach wrote a new history in the design language of super sports cars.
The Countach introduced a futuristic style ahead of its time during the 1970s. The designer behind the futuristic lines of this super car is Marcello Gandini, head of style at Carrozzeria Bertone.
It is an exclamation of the Italian Piedmontese dialect that indicates “astonishment and admiration” for something. From 1974 to 1990, 1,999 units of Countachs were produced in five different series.
The Lamborghini Countach has recently been reborn from its ashes. Lamborghini introduced the limited edition Countach LPI 800-4 on August 13, 2021, on the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Countach. The legendary legacy of the Countach, the futuristic lines are immediately recognizable in newly launched Countach LPI 800-4.
The Countach LPI 800-4 uses a hybrid V12 engine that produces 814hp. The top speed of the car is 355 km /h and performance of 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 2.8 seconds.
112 units of the Countach LPI 800-4 will be produced and will be delivered from first quarter 2022 to owners worldwide.
